A moment of shenanigans with a fictional modernization of leftover T-34 tanks to supplement diminishing tank supplies.

The 2024 T-24 "new" light support tank gets a modified T-12 field gun to allow it to fire newer 100mm rounds. The assistant driver station sees the installation of an AGS-30 grenade launcher while the driver hatch is enlarged a little, thickened and better view ports installed.

The turret has its rear expanded with armored panels to help with storage of the 100mm rounds as well as more room for radio, electronics and FCS systems. An IR illuminator is installed over the cannon, smoke grenade launchers on either side of the turret and an antenna on the rear of the turret.

The while front of the tank gets a splattering of ERA bricks as well as slat armor on either side of the rear side of the hull where storage containers and the upgraded V-2 engine is houses.

Missing is the fuel drums which would normally be installed to allow travel distances of more than a few fields between breakdowns.

While Russia says they "could" build hundreds and hundreds of more advanced T-90s and T-14's, their defense minister has stated the T-24 is good enough, based on reliable designs and allows more tanks to be provided while there is "no need" for more expensive or complicated tank designs at the present moment.
