Description
OMG!It's my first tutorial that I ever submitted! Gosh, I've never done anything like this before. But yeah, it's a tutorial for watercoloring Naruto characters, this one is of the lubbable Gaaras (two actually -to see the finished deviation click here ) I made it as a step-by-step program, very simple to follow. I'm sorry if I didn't add numbers or a background, but I wanted to be blunt and show you all how to color.
To me, I'm not sure if this is how Kishimoto does it, but I hope it's close enough, teh-heh!

I did not have copics at the time though (also it was back in 2005 so I had to use watercolors), but thank you!

It's okay, I get that.
They are hard to find, no? At least there where I live, ha hah. To be honest, I've never used copics before my friend lend me her owns. Which was over a year ago...

Can I ask you a quick question? You seem like a good person to ask.
When you add the shading on do you put it on when the lighter layer is dry?
And also, when I paint there always seems to be a darker line around where I have painted, like all the paint has been pushed to the edge (hard to explain) is that because I am using too much water and if so how do I stop it?
I'm not good at explaining so I forgive you if you don't answer. Plus they are stupid questions.
Great tutorial by the way, you are such an awesome painter! Adorable picture. ^_^

Try mixing your pigment with more water and use a test layer and see how that works out, or use different hues and experiment. C:

you have some good advice in your tutorial but to get a smooth application of paint its better with watercolors to spread your water over the portion of your painting your going to apply color to beforehand.

I'm getting much better at watercolors than I used to. But this does help fill in some of the gaps that come when you're self taught. Thanks for making this!

I srsly can't understand why you would ask such an obvious question!
Cuuuuzz people want to learn how to watercolor. So what? Why's the frequency of being faved a lot so important to you?
Besides this is OLLLLLLDD! I do digital nowadays.

The frequency of being faved is not so important, but I'm a bit disappointed of that number of +fav because I'm studing watercolour painting (ok,I've just begun) and I think that your level was not good enough to teach other people. I mean, I know that you can use the techique that depends on the effect you want, but it seems to me that your tutorial is not exactly a good point of start for someone who want to learn because this's not the right way to use watercolour and expecially when you are a beginner, the best thing is to learn the right techniques.
Nothing personal~

Again, this is an old deviation, and this was waaaaaaaay back to when I was learning how to watercolor myself, and the only reason I made this tutorial was just to give people an idea of how I did my watercoloring back in the day.

Yeah I took a look at her art and think she's wonderful . But just keep in mind though that not all devs here are as great as her (or other artists), so there's no need to bash if my art doesn't comapre to hers, okay?
Besides, I don't do watercolors much these days. I do vectors.

But otherwise, I accept your apology .
