Description Well, this be the cover for the Game I'll be producing for my final year. You take on the role of a graffiti character called 'Hood' in a wacky, gritty world of urban graffiti.

The basic game mechanics are that you move around walls, corners and vertical surfaces, yet you have to solve 3D puzzles from the restrictions of your 2D environment. These sort of puzzles involve smashing windows and slipping through the windowsill, knocking over towers of cardboard boxes to make a bridge between two different walls, and escaping the jaws of 4-letter word 'Tagg' monsters.

The game will flow a lot like a cross between Oddworld and The Neverhood, mixing up crazy mindbending puzzles with heartpounding monster chases.

The Pre-Production on this game has so far gone less-than-smoothly. Hopefully I'll be able to pick up what I left out in the final stages of the production. Cross yer fingers for me. o.o;

Well, the idea was to make a 'vertical slice' of gameplay footage that I could show to developers, giving a feel for how I wanted the game to play. The finished video intro is here - [link]

Wacky 2D characters in a dirty urban setting, based on a series of multi-dimensional travelling puzzles. Thought it would make quite a good game. ^^

That's a really nice thought Nimble. In fact that's just made my day. xD

Hopefully, I'll be able to catch a design studio's eye with this game (probably when I have a bit more status in the games industry) ... and I'll make it up for download on Steam. Just for you.

I saw the concept video for this game and its a really fascinating idea. Pulling off a simulated graffiti effect is tricky so I'm impressed in how well yours turned out.

Got any pointers as to what sizes/types of brushes and pressures work best?

Heehee! Glad you like!

Was amazingly tricky to pull off, that graffiti effect. Was a mixture of home-made scans of spraycan 'blobs' turned into photoshop brushes.

What you've got to remember about faux graffiti effects is that a lot of the time, the artist doesn't have time to put too much precision in their artwork. It also means that the paint tends to run in places where the colour and lines are too affected by gravity.

Have a look at some of my concept art for Ratty. May give you a few ideas. ^^

I know you were worried about the colours and I don't know what it looks like on your monitor but they look great from over here.
The edition of a window really helps sell that it's on a wall.
So yeah. Kooel.

Why thank you sir! I appologize for the late reply to this comment, but you know how busy we've all been as of late. Still, time is but a river. We, are but sailors in a boat. And words, are but oars ...

The way you speak about it, looks like you can actually jump straight into the game like it was alive. Sounds all good!

Wish you a good final work then! :v
