This was pretty helpful.
I assume it works on large images, as well as tags.
I just have one question. When you make the lines lighter, do you use the same layer and lighten them in ps, or trace over them in a differant layer.
I always forget to do that and I'm all "Aww.shit.."

Just to clarify, do you do all of the shading on different layers, then merge it to the base grey? And then do extra highlighting to put on dodge over the colored layer(s)?

Nope, all the shading is on one layer then the highlights are a separate layer on dodge

I never thought of starting with the darkest shadow and then using a low opacity to do the rest of the shading
Ill have to try that with my next tag

i tried the opacity thing, and ive come to the conclusion that it would look good if i had a smudge tool lol
