I assume u do those main buttons, play, rec etc, in C4D or some other 3D app, then adorn them afterwards in PS?

yeah man the client wanted them 3d... i use 3ds max with hdri reflections

Maya is aimed almost exclusively towards Animation..

No inspiration here unfortunately but nice to see something from you again, kickass interface. Maybe a little idea, since it looks so real and analog make the pressed state actually look like the button is deeper in the socket pressed in instead of different coloring.

Its so sharp interface with so much detailing but still its clean as in can get and easy to navigate. Always loved your work. And been wondering where you been all those months
