Fantastic piece of work. Really inspiring. I love the way you lay flat slabs of colour down, creating something that hangs in the space between rough hewn sculpture and delicate impressionism.
Beautiful colours...

but i found over the years that sometimes you have to do what ou want cause to make good art you need to be excited about it which means making your own art

yeah it was me into a mirror, i prefer to stay away from photos, most of the color (not always but often) are the ones i see, i set up a whole scene if need be, photos tend to kill the color in my paintings and i also tend to over detail when working from them

Yes, I guess the detail is a problem with it. You worked the scene well. I seem to work better with photos, sometimes, but that's possibly because I can't sit still enough to do myself! You've a fine eye for colour, and you use them very confidently.

thanks, its finished it was the last class and i just grabed a canvas i had laying around, oh and the model was myself but most people do read it as a girl, this was at a point when i was into cross dressing so maybe that why it reads that way

I absolutely love your wet-on-wet impasto style. I really should check out the rest of your gallery! And maybe even watch you...hehe.
I admire the way you are able to pick out colour components and then put them together to make a complete looking painting.
ps. come visit my gallery if you want...I only have one painting there, it's in my scraps cos it's incomplete. Right, I'm done with the grovelling (^_^)

Yeah, those colors really bring out the lighting and the skin tones. Too many people try to smooth out the brush strokes in their paintings. I'm glad that youve kept that rough edge to it.
