Wary....This is Chance. Born exceptionally sensitive and timid, he was separated from his owner and found much later, coated in mud, starving, lost and alone. Life is composed of a variety of terrors for Chance. Constantly on guard, he lurks in corners, always ready to retreat to a new safe spot. Spots are never safe for long, though....
Worming across my friend M's kitchen floor on my belly, I struggled to capture Chance. Lurking behind the hearth, I stole his secret expressions with my camera. It wasn't easy. I have many photos of tails and blurred fur. And a few treasured glimpses into his soul....

Beautiful capture of the nervous and wary Chance. I love the colors and detail...but the pose itself is the winner in this picture.

Thank you!!! I tried this one in BW, but I just liked that orange/yellow diagonal too much. I think the bright colors are kind of jarring, which is what I wanted, and why I chose a contrasting frame instead of a harmonious one.
(*I'm a bit proud of this one because I managed to frame it like this in the camera -- no cropping...*)
