Hamada used Psychic and Icebeam respectively to turn all that water from part 1 into an sparkly ice sculpture. (because in contests, almost everything should sparkle, lol) Now weβre starting to get winter-y!
So many effects! I think this one works best as a whole image/ splash page thing, it kinda blurs out on you if you look at it too close.

It reminds me of a contest from the anime where someone used their PokΓ©mon to create a similar effect. I don't think Psychic was involved, though.

I am trying for an anime-style appeal... but not using any one specific performance.
of course, I can't tell you how many times I come up w/ a cool art idea, and I think I'm SO clever, till someone else sees it and tells me it's exactly like some thing I've never seen before, I look up said thing, and it IS the same :/
but I'm just thinking winter=ice here, thats common enough it has very likely been done before ^^' hopefully the next bits will add some originality to it

Yeah, I realised this. I just love the imagery and the way you've presented it. It looks amazing. And don't worry. It's not a copy. I'm pretty sure Dawn was combining Buneary's Ice Beam with either Whirlpool or a spinning manoeuvre.

Those effects are just awesome. Seriously. I can't do effects for nuts (Which is why I leave that to the colorist OHOHOHOHOHO).

I love how you've set these panels out- how the water freezes where Ham used ice-beam- from his little side panel, and the pink-psychic glow is a really nice effect!
