Backgrounds I did for Aramii.com.
It was really good practice, though tedious at times.

God I love these, Scrii D: Your backgrounds are so much sharper and clarer than mine 
I remember seeing them in your LJ but I don't think I commented when I first saw them -- the colouring style and the shading is just so soft, pastelly and utterly gorgeous -- and the compositions are really nice too
In particular, I really like the reef, and I think the second version of the little waterfall is nice and solid, and it quite appeals :3

Usually my backgrounds are terrible, but I was forced to make them 100x cleaner here. xD Was definitely a challenge! Yours are so pretty though, and you can do them in traditional media! That's one thing I really wish I could do.

The colors are really, REALLY striking in all of these. Especially the underwater one. I like the shadow effects on the palm tree and the tide pools. The apple desktop adaptation is awesome. xD I kinda wish the light rays in the two forest ones weren't coming from like, some arbitrary offscreen point. There's probably a more natural way to place them. The effect itself is well done.

I guess it's less similar than I thought.
Annnd... hmm, maybe next time try splitting the light up into multiple sources? Like, part or all of the sky is lit and it's filtering through different patches of leaves, as opposed to originating from a single source? I dunno. I'll have to try it out too. xD

And do you mean the aurora one? I was unaware of it, but it does look similar! :P I referenced the northern lights from a photo, maybe Apple was inspired by those too.
