Description
This was an illustration I did for the James/ Lily (Harry Potter) summer fest on Livejournal.I'm happy with how this turned out but I must also admit I got a little carried away with my white pastel and wish I had done the patronuses a little differently. I still think it works though!

Wow, the patronus effect is pretty crazy the way it winds through the trees. I think there are a lot of really well executed details in this picture and I think the coolest one is the tree line of the forest in the very far background. All the trunks and branches are so squiggly cool in a mechanical way but they still feel really natural! The sunset colors behind them are nice too!

Thanks! : D I worked hard on this one last year and am quite proud of it, except for the coloring of the patronuses (I think I got carried away with my white paint pen...) but it was a lot of fun. I need to do more illustrations like this! I have a lot in the works, they just need to be colored... haha

I'm glad you got the cold & warm feeling I tried to evoke. The prompt for my illustration was:
"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade." -Charles Dickens
So I'm glad you got a similar feeling without knowing the prompt!
