Description
Inspired by Christian children's entertainer "Carman," who sings a popular song about how you shouldn't be afraid of monsters - because the only real monsters are demons! THAT'S RIGHT, KIDS!Related content

That doesn't make it better; seriously I've had religious people actually say this and I'm like...okay...but in the context of this conversation I'd rather have the fragments of a human psyche wandering around my house than a celestial eldritch abomination cast out of eternal paradise taking out its frustration on mortals...so your belief...is terrible as advice to someone weirdo.
Funny thing is I have also had people with a straight face say ghosts are psychic experiments by aliens; or they are fae playing tricks on people...the fae one honestly I find the least horrifying as sociopathic elementals just passing through pulling a prank is a little less horrifying than the above or aliens treating you as an experiment.

Many religious people actually believe this - they say demons are real, and pretend to be ghosts and aliens and other supernatural things to confuse humans :b

Well I'm a Catholic and I've never been told any of this stuff or even heard of this claim. So consider me confused for why people say this. xDD

...Can't a kid ask for an exorcist, then? As far as I know, demons are worst than ghosts.

I regularly see Christian websites saying that ghosts are just demons playing tricks, and then saying demons will run away if you just believe in Jesus at them.

Lol, this is too awesome!
The wings on the monster remind me of the Angel of Death from Hellboy.

Yeah! Though I made this even before that movie ....I think some angels in the bible had eyes on their wings, or were described as totally covered in eyes. They were really frightening and surreal looking creatures usually.

technically if I recall the use of the words as they were originally used angels and any other entity that is 'spirit' or 'god-like' is a demon, I think it meant 'not god' I'm not sure exactly though.
Which means the only real distinction between 'hell' demons and 'heaven' demons would be who they work for and how they present themselves.

so the monster in the closet is a demon, and the monster under the bed is a demon. and we have nothing to be afraid of because the monster will eat you but a demon will eat you and take your soul to hell for eternity. well i feel smarter now.

Cool! This ghost is even better. But I guess the other one would be funnier to a wider range of people-- i.e. people who can't, in fact, laugh at a punchline containing something with an exposed brain, claw-nails, and cut-off feet.
I pity those people.

Well, at least you could pull her top down before you were horribly murdered. But knowing demons, there would probably be deadly snakes under there.

I've never met any, but you never know. I think any parent who told this to their kid would probably say something about demons/fallen angels being powerless in a faithful household.

I wouldn't trust any seemingly supernatural entity, period. As soon as you broke the physical scientific world all bets would be off, how would I know something claiming to be a ghost, angel, or heck, even trying to admit to being a demon isn't any infinite array of things we might not even have a term for D:
Or just a GLITCH IN THE MATRIX
