Description Ok so this week has been a bit rough for me. I work in an online store so there was a lot of work for black Friday that is happening next week. PLUS my brothers car has stopped functioning properly for the last 6 weeks and we had to share to go to work, it's on the final stages of getting sorted...that last part would have been fine except he has had to work some over time this week (we talking 14-15 hour shifts which means waking up early and finishing late).

So in the last 2 to 3 days I tried my best to finish this piece...I did not but I have to stop. I am getting fatigued and it's slowing down my process. I am fairly happy with the way the face came out. The hair I definitely would like to finish at some point. I do not regret taking this piece of artwork on..was interesting and enjoyable to  see the results. I do have a problem with pushing my colors but I am starting to get the hang of it. I had to stop color picking from original and choose colors myself...which was really interesting to do. I switched over to the textured brushes and I must say that it looked better for it...bit of a learning curve for me but a welcome addition. I have to move on to other artwork that has been sitting. Will get back to this study at a later point. I already missed a few days and I can feel my pace slowing down a bit.

I only used one, not really sure how to mix and match different brushes just yet.

Thank you!!! My only gripe with this is that she is starting to look like a different person in mine (smaller face, bigger eyes, less forehead and chin)... I may also have been staring at it for too long. I need a brake from her.

Looking good! Eyes are popping alright! The value modulation is impressive.

Makeup warms/ gold browns are hard. Maybe a bit brown-orange in it would make it warmer, now it's still a bit metallic. The nostril is a tick short, you can also try to move the right flap (no idea the name) more right.

For the staring blindness and if you haven't tried it yet, you can use the mirror trick. Just flip/mirror both pics and see how it feels like a brand new image (to catch problematic sections).

Thanks for the feedback...Whhooo doing a color study is challenging. Everyone makes it look so easy. It took a while before I started to get the hang of it. She does need more orange and yellow and pink. Maybe I need to change up the brushes or something to make it look more skin like and not so metallic and fake-ish feeling....it's getting there tho which I am happy about. and In the future, I will need to do a couple of portrait studies in color to get the hang of it. Another thing on my to do list of things.
