Description
Liked the lighting in this and it lent itself to mono. So it got mono-ed up. Character nearly finished. I need to set her out in a few different lighting settings, but morph and the textures are now pretty much complete. I'm sure I'll find some other things to fiddle with, but what the hell. Need to stop at some pointUsual setup - Daz, iray, PS

Really great light and processing. This is one of those shots that look deceptively simple but in fact involve a lot of work

Love the character you have created.
Did you ever render her in other scenes?

Ah thank you. All about lighting. Have a look at some photography lighting tutorials and keep it simple - this was one light to the right at about 45 degrees ish.

ha! I had no idea. My god - see trying to gets seams blended? Although quite a bit of that was before realising I'd changed the UV accidentally from G2F to V5 *facepalm*

Oh lord. Actually - thats genius. You can have different UV's for different parts *facepalm* I do a lot of facepalming these days. I tried a demo of blacksmith, but it kept crashing on both of my Macs, so am using PS, which seems to do the job. Sorta badly when it comes to seams to be fair.Β

Thanks - I quite like this one myself. Am making some HDRi lighting just now to mimic studio lights a little more, so hopefully will be able to do more of this sort of thing

You should have a play with iRay. Its integrated into 4.8 and essentially gives all the functionality of reality, but, well, much faster And its really straightforward. It'll be interesting to see how reality/lux copes with it now. I've got reality too, but can't see me using it again in the short term unless the new update is silly fast.

I see - yeah - the nVidia cores help, but you can still use it - it'll just not be any faster than lux. Not particularly slower either though when I tested it cpu only a while back

Iray can be used with ATI? I tried to install DAZ 4.8 In the menu item is displayed not render Iray.

yeah - you can render using cpu only - under the Render - Advanced theres a setting there for CPU only - I though it defaulted to that. I know because the first few renders I did with it - I hadn't installed the nVidia cuda drivers and so my graphics card didn't show up in the settings. I was wondering why it was all going so slowly when everybody was saying it was much faster. So the first few I did were as if I had no nvidia graphics card

No worries easy to try - Render -> Editor -> stick an HDRi in the environment map setting - then a figure and hit render. I think your Render -> advanced options should have the cpu ticked in the photoreal devices - not sure if that's default. Good luck

Think I've found your problem - you need to run the 64 bit version - iray is 64 bit only.
