I really like the mood of this picture- it looks peaceful, but the character's expression itself also looks sorrowful or lost, pensive. Overall I really like the expression and hair, the water effect, and especially how the colour blue is reflected in the shirt and skin tone

This looks great! The colors are calming and simple, and your linework is very clean. I like the detail you put into the water.
One thing I do notice, however, is that the hand could be worked on a little bit. I think the big problem area is the thumb. It's far too small and awkwardly positioned. The rest of the hand looks pretty proportionate, though!
Other than that small detail, everything else looks fantastic!

Critique one as requested: First off, I'll say that your choice of color is excellent! Β The cool hues work very well with each other. Β That said, I feel like your line art could use a little work. Β By that I mean you should experiment a little more with line weight especially on his shirt. It would really add more visual interest. Β I would also move his nose down slightly and perhaps make it more prominent; it almost becomes lost due to it's size and placement in the shadowy areas. Β Overall, not a bad start.
