Frishas mother, Serinus, was a dragoness with a bounty on her by the Ape clan because of her affiliation with the dragon soldier Frillisean. Her mate, Mullison, still fell for her and accepted living in hiding if it meant staying with her. They constructed a secret hideout as their home and soon Serinus would lay three eggs, their children.
Soon enough, they learned that the apes were close to finding them, so Mullison would travel alone to find a new hiding place they could escape to so as to keep Serinus as hidden as possible. However, as he searched within a mountain cave, a rockslide caused it to block him in, taking him days to find a way out.
While he was gone, the apes found Serinus and their hiding place. As they tried to restrain her, they started smashing her eggs which enraged her, and she killed all the apes there with an unusually powerful Electric Fury.
There was only one egg that had survived. Serinus would take her last child and flee to a new place to hide. With Mullison being gone for days, she started to accept that he must have been killed.
Mullison however eventually escaped the cave and returned to their hideout, only to find it empty but with obvious signs of an attack. His heart was broken, and he ran. To where, he didn't know.

Serinus escaped to the marshlands, close to the Dragon Temple, where her egg would hatch a baby daughter that she named Frisha.
She kept her in hiding with her for a few years until she would notice dragon mothers with their children coming and going from the Temple. She found out that they were there to be trained by the Guardians. Serinus hadn't been found by the apes for years, and she started to wonder if she could come out of hiding, to let her daughter be trained by these legendary dragons. Eventually she decided for it.

Frisha instantly loved being there and meeting new dragons her age. She quickly became best friends with Ember, and the two of them would be near inseparable.
It was at this time that the evil dragon Cynder was hunting for the Guardians, who had left the Temple to battle her. One fateful day, apes had shown up in the marshlands and recognized Serinus. Word was spread and more apes came to capture her. Seeing the apes appear, the dragons at the Temple decided to evacuate, being led by the young Merona to travel to the city. Serinus gave herself up to them to allow the dragons and her daughter to escape safely. Serinus convinced her daughter to travel with the group with the false promise that she would catch up with them. Frisha waited at the city for her mother, who never showed.

Years later however in what was a rare miracle of the times, Serinus finally returned to the city to find her daughter who was now a teenager. She would share her story of her brief capture and escape, and continued hiding until she felt it was safe to return, which with the defeat of Malefor, the appearance of the new Purple dragon Spyro, and the crippling of the Ape army did she finally feel that it was safe to come home to her daughter.
