EDIT: The problem was, I was using a mane 6 base.

I zoom in as far as possible, 800% and use the line tool mostly.

Unfortunately it probably won't make sense without the picture as it highlights locations of specific tools I talk about in the steps.

Are you sure you followed all the steps correctly and are using the correct tutorial for the version of Paint you have/use?

Then I don't know what to tell you. If you follow all the steps correctly it will work. Works for me and others. You'd only be able to do one pony at a time, unless the have the same original outline color. What exactly is happening when you do it?

Then the problem should be step 6. You sure you followed it correctly and selected the transparent selection option?

Was the second color correct? Did you make sure that the eyedropper tool actually got the outline color?

I have always done it this way and am so used to it that it takes me approximately 2 seconds to do this way.
