Description
SELKRA FINALLY POSTS WORLD BUILDING MATERIAL.
The smazel are the only non-native sapients in Broken Yolk Galaxy. They are a very conservative and socially conforming species. Only the females are large, developed and sapient while the males do not age, die quickly and are no sapient. The whole 'males fusing with females to reproduce' is inspired by angler fish life cycles.
‘Smazel’ means ‘cleansers’ in an old, mostly unused native language. It’s in reference to the self imposed historical duty of eradicating the universe, believing their deity would construct a new better one.
Some details about the species, such as physical characteristics or species typical behavioral characteristics, are subject to change in the future, but those changes are bound to be minor, so I figured it's best to put out species sheets now just so anyone watching me for Broken Yolk Galaxy can have SOMETHING to consume :V
And no, they're not an 'open' or 'closed' species to sell to anyone, they're just for me and my headworld.

Is There any group that seeks to continue the galactic purge? Do Smazels hate a particular species avobe others?

It's a big galaxy and there are billions of smazels in the galaxy and they all live in various groups. Many integrated into BYG society and live alongside them peacefully, and many still live in sealed fundamentalist communities.
The later group can be susceptible to developed a hatred toward the native alien cultures and want to still carry out their holy crusade, and conflicts still happen every now and then, but nothing near the scope of the previous Xionage empire :V

When I found this picture of a goose's tongue , it kind of gave me an idea on how the Smazel's mouth evolved the way it is, and why it has no tongue: the middle jaw is a tongue, or at least was one.
See, its tongue may have developed some teeth of its own to help bite/tear/chew food, and eventually it got externalized into an extra jaw.
I mean, it's either that or it started with a rostrum with two mouth holes, one above, one below, and some appendages showed up there and became mobile mandibles, while the rostrum became a stationary jaw.
Those are just my two cents on how it evolved that way.
