I think it's really interesting. Not sure how it would help my drawing but definately interesting to know how the muscles move as you move.

Im no expert but i pretty much know the basics of the arms by heart. The torso and lower extremities are something i really have to study.

Hehe it's hard, especially over a certain age. I know I find it hard memorising now than I did when I was 18. But then again I always had memory issues...
As for my news, my sister is coming to the UK at the end of the month to stay for 5 days! I am so excited! It's the first time anyone from my family is visiting in the UK and I've planned some nice trips for us.

Yeah I've been here for 5 years now. The first time I came here it was with my parents so they'd help me settle in. After that though my father had a stroke and well you know his condition.. So maybe now they feel like they'd be a burden for us. In fact they'd need someone driving to take them around to see the countryside etc. Neither me or Ad drive :/

I do wanna learn in future though... It sucks not being able to live in a nice house because you have to be within walking distance of the shops. But on the other hand having to walk everywhere keep you fitter hehe. We used to live in a house on an incredibly steep hill. It was so steep nobody would park their cars there because they'd find them down the road in the morning! Every day we had to walk up it to come back from town. We eventually had buns of steel lol!
Actually, once Ad went out after it had snowed and our road was iced over and he slipped and slid down to the bottom of the road. Came back badly bruised and his jacket was so torn we had to throw it away lol.
But the view from that house was wonderful.

looks like you really had lotsa memories in that place! We Filipinos would have a hard time there coz were used to public transportation here. We got Tricycles, bikes with sidecars, jeepneys, TAXIs and buses everywhere. You can literally go every place without walking!

Yep. Lots of memories. Most bad though to be honest.
I don't like cramped public transportation means tbh. I still remember the days I used to miss my stop for college because I couldn't get out of the bus lol. But I do love walking, especially if the place is nice.

Haha... i dont think you'll have any problems here. Well, in major cities like Manila, Public transpo is crowded as hell but here where i live? Lets put it this way:
There, people probably wait in line for buses. Here, jeepney's wait in line for passengers. LOL. There are waaaaaay too much here Vass and you can travel from one edge of the city to the other side with less than 25c.
But i agree, walking is really nice! But in the city? sigh... the pollution, the crime... tsk tsk. As for the memories.. good or bad, they helped you make you are today right?

SilkyWays In reply to semaj007 [2009-05-11 19:33:53 +0000 UTC]
Well actually buses here are very punctual and kind of expensive so people don't really wait in line for them. In Greece tthough, you can travel huge distances with very little money so in popular destinations at peak time they're packed!

semaj007 In reply to SilkyWays [2009-05-12 14:18:58 +0000 UTC]
same here.. jeepneys are very packed from 7-8AM, 11-1PM and 6-8PM. Other times, you spend a lot of time waiting for other passengers as drivers love to stop at almost every other block.

Well, Filipinos are inherently smaller than other people. So when you see a really fat one, she/he must be doing something really really wrong. Me, juz a lil bit wrong. hehehe

Well your frame can be small but you can add weight to it. But some people have it in their DNA not to be fat. I don't eat bad at all, always conscious of calories and yet I can't be slim without starving myself to death with plain chicken and salads. One of my best friends though is a tiny thing and she stuffs herself silly. *sigh* some people have all the luck!

I totally get ya! My friend back in highschool was like a hundred pounds at 5'6 but he ate like 3-4x as much as i did! 15 years after, he still looks the same! Unfair! LOL
But we still have a chance to be smaller though... its juz that we have to work on it more while they dont do anything at all! tsk tsk

Yeah for me though its a life commitment. POVS made sure of that. It's so disheartening knowing that in order to look slim I have to eat dry chicken bre4ast and green salad all my life. Even sports every day do nothing if I am not on a really strict diet. I cook every day and it's not unhealthy stuff either but it's not a strict diet. It's not fair having to live like that all through your life.

I hear ya. Were in the same boat remember? But its a bit easier for me to lose weight as long as i really put some effort.
Im gonna try out Jillian Michael's workout coz she made a lot of people slim down at the Biggest Loser show.

It would be impossible for me to have a proper diet because I have to cook for Adam too and if I cook diet stuff he won't touch it. But I am trying to substitute my snacks to salads and soups to make up for it.
What's that workout like?

semaj007 In reply to SilkyWays [2009-05-18 12:32:47 +0000 UTC]
mainly aerobic stuff but combined with dynamic strength training without much rest in between.
Like you have to jog for a full minute, then drop to the floor for pushups, then go up again for squats and get down again for squat thrusts... i tried it and lasted only 10 minutes i think coz i couldnt do the pushups anymore! LOL.
I used to do like 50reps easily on my fists and even on fingers for 10-20 reps. Now, i can barely do 15 reps! aaaarrrggh!

semaj007 In reply to SilkyWays [2009-05-19 02:24:49 +0000 UTC]
I know... but the show base the individual's progress on the percentage of the weight loss and not the number of lbs. Most contestants lose around 30-40% of their weight! And those who dont reach those numbers, reach their supposed body weight.

SilkyWays In reply to semaj007 [2009-05-19 07:34:31 +0000 UTC]
Funny I was going to say in my previous post that they loose ridiculous amounts of weight because that is a small percentage for their body mass. At first that is. To keep losing that much weight after you're down to a more normal weight is alarming! It is a great achievement though because the more weight you've got on the longer you have to diet and obviously the more unfit you are.

semaj007 In reply to SilkyWays [2009-05-19 09:39:29 +0000 UTC]
i agree but their instructors are well informed and intelligent. They really count calories and dont allow the contestants to skip meals. They count how much calories you burn and how much you need to keep exercising healthy.

It is a lot easier when you have personal trainers. Mainly because you can't go off the rail or give up without making a fool out of yourself lol

I dont mind making a fool out of myself but yeah, one is more successful with a trainer. If its too expensive, at least a partner or spotter who can encourage you and vice versa
