Description
After uploading the final version of [link] , asked me how i did the droplets so i decided to share my own technique with everybody in this very poor excuse of a tutorial.im sure everybody will be able to do it. I know its not really accurate but it does the job pretty well and as easy as some slutty girl i know.
Juz keep in mind the surface where the water droplets (or what ever type liquid you want flowing.... i know what the slutty girl wants flowing ) are flowing k? Enjoy! Hope this helps! And the consistency of the liquid would depend on what color you should use (water vs blood, semen, etc )
Let me know if you put this tutorial to use k? would love to see your works!

This is both the simplest and most effective liquid tutorial I've ever seen. Thanks and congrats and your ability to simplify instructions so well!

Im glad ive been able to find a way to make this simple and quick enough to follow but still look presentable. Hope it helps you out!

If weren't for your tutorial, I guess that making a simple water effect via photoshop might still be far away from others; since I won't use it much, hopefully there will be something that could let me practice it or so.
Anyway, I am looking for a splashing tutorial; because it seems to me that when something big is thrown into water, the splashes are hard to catch and even with the help of camera, it's rather complicate for people to study from it. So I wonder if you have any similarity regarding about it.(I've seen the picture linked from this tutorial and don't seem to find any water dropped to the sea to show the ripples or slight splashes, so I guess this is more of a harder way to draw.)

I think the link to that other piece was the droplets on the figure's body. TBH, i dont know how to do splashes as well. Its really hard!
Would be great if there was a tutorial on that here.

Yeah; the only droplets I found is on the body; no splashes on the water. All I found it [link] , which is similar to your droplet tutorial but it's on air, with different movement and isn't actually what we want.
From what I had in mind, I guess that instead of observation, a tutorial should be made so we can know the theory and then refer it to make our own splash; but this will requires some slow recording and guidance arrow to see an example instead.

yeah, you got to have those highspeed cams they use in national geographic to get the splash effects perfectly. It would be great if there were references/tutorials for splashes that occur when waves hit the rocks or a huge object is dropped to a body of water.

I think someone has to do it. But he must be fast enough to snap the photo so the splash won't goes off. But even with normal digital camera, I think it's good enough to analyze, since most drawings hardly need much movement in it; just the feeling.

Yes eyes; they are like liquid as well, so the reflection on the water is helpful on this as well.

Oh yeah! That's right... the same theory goes for the iris as well when the light hits it, light goes thru the other side.

There are so many ways to draw eyes~! X3 I don't want anime shining eyes; they are just too scary sometimes (Just like some comics for girl, where the character eyes are so flashy it seems like they are selling mirrors or anything in the eyeballs. O_O)

haha! Anime eyes are cool and the person who first designed em is a genius. Its juz a bit annoying at times when every other anime artist has juz done the same and wherever you look at, its the same old thing and every character looks the same.
That's why i applaud the people who did Blood, Vexille, StreetFighter 2, Street Fighter Alpha and Ninja Scroll coz although they're still anime, they had distinct looks to em that are different from the rest.

Phillus In reply to semaj007 [2008-11-29 15:40:39 +0000 UTC]
Not really. I've read something in a drawing book that in between eyes and head, the character will look different as long as you change the hair, but not the eyes, so eyes are more like the expression for mood and emotion, but not character. But sadly for Anime, which their main attraction is the eyes, thus they are easily abused, which is a pity. But hey, if it's good, people use it, so there's nothing we can really do.

That's what i meant. For styles other than manga, the eyes is a really small detail but for anime/manga its the biggest. I know its common practice for anime artists but they should at least try to make their characters look different from each other.

Im glad it didnt! I was pissed off to see Xmen looking like anime one time. It sucked! Im glad that Marvel and DC has totally left the Manga scene.
But its shitty how Transformers, GIJoe, Teen Titans and other toons have become manga.

I will feel sick if I see them being as anime; it's just too sissy and completely wipe out their powerful feeling and such...>.< Marvel and DC will NEVER be with manga scene unless they are trying to convert most teenage American into Otakus...
Well, those are not much popular, so I guessed they've turned to the 'dark side'...

You're kidding right? GIJoe, Heman and Transformers put western animation in the map. Without em, i think our TV sets will still be filled with Mazinger Z, Voltes V and such.
At least Heman's latest incarnation was still western animation but Gijoe and TF are fugly! At least i still got the movies to make me happy.

Yes I am really kidding. I am not really a fan of these cartoons at the moment, so that's why I don't really know much about them if you ask.
Those movies are good and rather classic, I think...so it's true that they make most people happy (that's why sometimes when it ends, all of them laugh together).

well, the new versions arent that good but the originals which were released back in the 80's were instant classics in their own rights. Any guy who grew up in the 80's should know these.
Instant classic? well, for me but some other fans hated the TF movie. GIJOe will be released sometime in 2009.

Yes, they are really famous for their classics now, even the latest one with better animation might not be able to win the classicals.
I remember watching TF before, but it didn't last that long since I am not really interested in robots or so.

Canon in D wasn't that popular, and then it is; I think you have to listen to it first though.
But I won't be surprise if you never heard of them, since...not everyone listen to classical music though. (too bad that I like them much. XD)

Yeah, and some music that sounds good to me don't like by others. I think that you should know the name of it, it's just for your own convenience somehow...and as I become older, I think that it's deadly if I don't know what it's called.

Phillus In reply to semaj007 [2008-12-02 04:09:42 +0000 UTC]
Well because I really like music and I sometimes use it to explain something, usually aesthetic, thus it's better to know their names and so. Also, it will be easier for me to find it when I need them.
But it's only deadly for me, not others, I guess...
