Description A friend of mine asked me for some tips for basic shading so i thought of sharing this with you guys as well.

This is very basic stuff for you guys here but i may be adding some new more advanced stuff in a few days.

I didnt edit/clean any strokes coz my friend is using pencils as well and it would help her to see the individual strokes.

^^ Yeah Tutorial, I love to learn with tutorials, since I can't afford an institute

Yeah, institutions are really expensive! especially if we wanna learn art juz for recreation. I studied art before during summer in gradeschool but never had any formal training as well.

If more people find this tutorial helpful, i think i might go on with this.

Good tut, you don't find the 'reflective surfaces' thing on many tutorials, quite often you just have to find it out for yourself!

Exactly.. i really dont know why most art schools and teachers dont teach this. I had to learn it by myself too and i guess im a stubborn student coz i dont adapt what i learn always.

I lost all faith in schools when mine gave me a D in GCSE Art, which I considered to be my strongest subject. thing is most of them don't even teach portraiture/painting any more...

What's GCSE? Wow... D? REally? that's a mighty low grade. I mean we aint experts but i think you are knowledgeable enough to get a grade higher than that!

Art school that dont teach portraiture and painting? Wow... that's something i havent heard before! Amd they call themselves art school?

GCSE, I'm not sure what your equivelant is, but it's the one you take age 15/16. Key stage 4, the one you've been building up your whole life to study

Oh it's not an art school, this was just my regular ordinary school. They have a pretty small art department with a few hopeless teachers.

Haha... pretty much the same here. Our art class back in highschool was more on crafts than arts.

Ahhhh... we have something equivalent to GCSE but i forgot what its called but yeah, we have that.

They never taught us that in 4 different art institutions I've been to. You just gotta learn yourself. Hope some people find that handy.

Wow! even in art institutions? i never knew that the exposure on this thing was that bad! I dont know why they never touch into this. The next tutorial im gonna put up is probably on how to use these elements/principles on anatomy and such.
