Description
If you've watched Ben 10 Original as a kid, awesome! If you've watched Ben 10 Original then transitioned into Ben 10 Alien Force, that is cool there.
If you've watched Ben 10 Original, Alien Force and transitioned into Ben 10 Ultimate Alien, why would Man of Action do that in the first place?
and if you've watched all three original series and then saw this monstrosity with a sane mind: the same response would pop into your head based on watching the trailers for this program.
I mean really? are we supposed to believe that these guys look anything like the versions of the characters in the Original, Alien Force and Ultimate Alien once did? It doesn't even match to their developed personalities, they don't even look like they are trying to even be subtle anymore about these guys now.
And if any of you says that this series is going to be better than the original series or it's somewhat decent sequel series was, [link] !!

This is what happens when you leave the Ben 10 fandom for a year, thinking they ended the poor series after UA, but no... When I first saw this, I felt like someone slapped me right across the face. Okay, fine, I could somehow deal with the horrible design, but the fact that Ben's Team disbanded and there's some Rook guy replacing Gwen and Kevin does not sit right with me. God help this poor series. It has gone way downhill.

even more-so in one of its early episodes where a device that could destroy an entire universe goes off and Ben goes Alien X and uses it's powers to create an exact copy of the universe in its entirety: meaning that everything that once was is no longer anymore real: just an echo that Ben created himself as though he were god.
I keep thinking that in reality Ben is just undergoing psychosis right now and is imagining everything that is around him as he was the only thing that was not destroyed in the universe and is driven insane by it: at least THAT would make a load of sense, that we are just observing the empty world from inside of his head as he tries to cope with the fact that he is completely alone.

so is the fact that Ring Around the Rosie was in truth alliteration towards The Black Plague of 1348 A.D. that was responsible for reducing the population of Europe from 450 million to 375 million over a course of 3 years, along with causing the persecution towards Jews and Foreigners that would remain consistent until a point.

I donΒ΄t agree much with your opinions about UA and AF season 3 (I agree this one started weak, but it had great eps like Trade Off and Vendetta). But IΒ΄d like to invite you for our group, if youΒ΄re interested. You must have noticed that here weΒ΄re not that happy with Omniverse, either.
Mind you if I show this on Tumblr? IΒ΄ve got affiliations of OS to UA club there and on Facebook, too.

It looks like it dropped acid in Max's eyes, anyway. How creepy IS that? Rook is the only thing I like because he has pupils! How messed up is THAT? I like a character who's an alien because he's the only one with human characteristics on this ill-designed show!

One of the reasons why Kevin fascinated me so much in AF/UA was because he actually looked like a real man, compared to the rest of the characters. Saw many boys like him.

Its a real disgrace. So far only Rook and Khyber are the only ones who seem promising...probably because they're completely new characters.
Everything else? A poor attempt at making us all nostalgic when it really just plain disgusted most of us.

Ben 10 matured in Alien Force, and should stay matured, stay as a strong individual with a minor playful side when the situation calls for it. Not become a show-off and overly-abusive of his powers with the Omnitrix like he was when he was 10, he's 15-16 now, he should be serious like Yuri Lowenthals most prominent role in television history: To find out more about that guy, just watch this [link] and report back to me when you're done.

Well, I am precising, cause let's face it, some of the aliens, like Water Hazard, NRG and a Jury Rigg have actually good designs. The only alien design I dislike so far is Big Chill (and trust me I HATE it; Big Chill is my favourite alien, I'm mad they ruined his design). But when it comes to the human designs, as you pointed out, they look barely real.
π: 0 β©: 1
ETNRL4L In reply to Darinas [2012-09-29 13:07:41 +0000 UTC]
Well, you can't really make Jury Rigg any uglier... the things a gremlin!NRG is a tin can. I'll acquiesce on Water Hazard because it takes neurons to draw THAT.
'Barely real' is a definite understatement! If you SAW a person that resembled any of these monsters in a dark alley, you'd run the heck away in the opposite direction!
π: 0 β©: 1
Darinas In reply to ETNRL4L [2012-09-29 17:45:45 +0000 UTC]
Well, yeah, Jury Rigg was ugly to begin with, but his original design was reather poorly designed and uninspired. I find the aviator suit actually makes him more likable in a way, even cute to an extent. As for NRG, I always saw him more like a walking factory or something^^' And as hard as it is to admit to me, Water Hazard actually got Better, cause in UA, he look far too much like a robot to me. At least, Omniverse makes him look more crustacean-like.
Well, no I wouldn't run... okay, maybe I would if I saw someone with that kind of smile. But otherwise, I'd rather laugh^^' Seriously, Kevin looks like a Caveman now.
To be fair again, Derrick Wyatt actually is a great artist; he did Teen Titans and Transformers Animated, which both had great designs. But my opinion is he is just trying too hard to change everything in Omniverse. When something isn't broken, you don't fix it. And a lot of the change he made feel unnecessary and unfitting, not to mention seem to be there for no reason.

Darinas In reply to ETNRL4L [2012-09-29 20:17:06 +0000 UTC]
Well to be fair, it does make sense for other aliens than Anodytes; I mean, it's unlikely Humans are the only species to wear clothes. And let's face it, Xlr8 wouldn't look that cool without his armor and helmet. The Anodyte, on the other hand, being energy beings, shouldn't need any clothing. My guess is they though they had a too simple design that make them too identical to each others. And to be fair, they were right; but even then, there were cooler way to deal with this; they could have put some magic runes over their body to show the mystical aspect, for exemple; I don't hate that much Gwen's new Adonyte form, but it does feel weird on this aspect.

Maybe put in some facial tattoos, or robes or sashes to denote an aspect of cultural sense amongst the aliens, not all of them are super soldiers or black marketeers. Examples in other genres indicate a deeper significance to their cultures: the Elites in Halo that wield Energy Swords are culturally bound to never be able to marry and their children are to be raised by an uncle or relative instead of the parents. The Forerunners hold the belief in The Mantle of Responsibility that dictated they are the ones responsible for the future of the galaxy, a task that was passed onto them from the mythical Precursors, and that Mankind itself will inherit the Mantle from the Forerunners when they themselves pass on. The Dingirians from Space Battleship Yamato are the descendants of Sumerian Humans from Mesopotamia that were rescued from a great flood by an alien race they revel as Gods, the Dingiran culture evolved from Egotism as opposed to Self-Sacrifice like we did, and dictate that Humanity must die as they are weaker than them so they could reclaim their ancestral homeworld by any means necessary after their adopted home of Dinguil was destroyed by the same floods on Earth. The Dingirians even go about destroying defenseless Human Colonies in space and spaceports on Earth; so mankind in its entirety would perish in the same floods that they were bringing to Earth.
We only seem to barely scratch the very surface of alien cultures in the Ben 10 Genre, when we think we're on the pathway to culture and how it relates to or against Humanity, the chance is stolen away from us entirely.

I don't know anything about Halo, but I agree with you on that. Especially irritating since DJW actually bothers trying to develop characters of different species... and what do we get from that ? Galvans dressed as the Vreedles and a Wildvine Hippie. Great--' Couldn't he bother giving them actually alien culture instead of making them based on Earth stuff ? It doesn't make any sense!

I plan on writing a Redux of AF Season 3: it'll delve deeper into the Murrayan (Vilgax's Species), and Barreners (Probity's Species) cultural history somewhat to start with, along with adding some technologially interesting elements that could be capitalized or expanded upon from the original series. I also plan to there being 10 actual new aliens inside of the Omnitrix, because I felt we were jipped in the actual show because in War of The Worlds: the Omnitrix reset itself and Ben then said he did not recognize ANY of the aliens inside of the new playlist before landing on Lodestar as the Season ended. But I need some help with this. Interested in becoming part of what should have been?

Darinas In reply to Sephirath21000 [2012-11-14 00:41:25 +0000 UTC]
Actually, I hate to cut part of your imagination, but Vilgax's species already has an official name, and that since the original show: they are called Chimera Sui Genesis. Still, their culture never really was developped, so I guess you can still study facts about them. But who is Probity already ? I don't remember...
Lol, I have actually tried imagining a backstory for Vilgax once, that fleshed out his motivations (if you're interested I should still have a copy I could send you). And I have a friend who tried imagining stuff for alien cultures, such as having Eye Guy's species being a sect of hightly skilled and secretive assassins.
Well, I always assumed that when Ben said that, he meant he wasn't recognizing the aliens he was then seeing. Or that he activated a new playlist alongside the one already active. And I was actually relieved that he didn't change his aliens, because Big Chill was my personnal favourite (and still is, despite the outrage Omniverse did to him with the design). Still, I guess adding new aliens might be interesting.
Well, I would be glad to give a hand. How could I help ?

Sephirath21000 In reply to Darinas [2012-11-14 02:10:48 +0000 UTC]
I know that their species is called Chimera Sui Generis, I just call them Murrayans because their home planet (before it was renamed as Vilgaxia) was called Murray, and it just rolls off the tongue easier don't you think. Their species is indeed called Chimera Sui Generis scientifically speaking, but Humans are also scientifically called Homo Sapiens, but we still refer to ourselves as Humans. Probity, that one alien kid whose species were divided among Red and Blue skin tones of which she was in the latter grouping that fought a war over their philosopher Zavin: whose only statue from the eras understanding had its paint chip away over the millenia so neither side could really tell which subspecies he belonged to: red or blue.
I also have an interesting Vilgax backstory that relates to his people: send me yours and I'll tell you mine.
I have an interesting concept about the Osmosians cultural history: one that dates back to the Jurassic Period of Earth and involves corruption, betrayal, loss, life, exile, and forgiveness.
I also made a backstory to The Plumbers Organization that has Azmuth and Verdona playing their parts to help cement an era of peace-keepers to emerge and take flight across the stars: even the creation of a special forces cell within the organization dedicated to the prevention of war itself by major powers where Magister-ranked Plumbers were unable to alter completely, trained to completely ABOLISH the personal usage of firearms and energy-based weaponry: sticking to the steel of ones sword just like their Supreme Commander: the very founder of the Plumbers Organization, his name: unknown, his species: unknown, his age: unknown, his homeworld: unknown, Only Azmuth and Verdona know these things, all that is known about him is his nickname and rank: The Ace Altruist. And his species is the 1,000,904th species in the Milky Way Galaxy: his species not even indexed into the Codon Stream, as was promised to him by Azmuth.
I have nothing against the normal Season 1 and 2 playlist, I just wanted another playlist of 10 Aliens to his arsenal unlocked to him, I even have an alien species that he could transform into: a perfect blend of intelligence and strength that would be a great tactician above all else, along with being the greatest hunter the galaxy has ever known; because you have to be just as cunning to catch him as he is. While their intelligence supersedes that of other species, they are at Level 1 Technology-wise and consistently tribal in both nature and culture, making them very unpredictable.
I could use some help on writing and plot details, note me an Email I can send some stuff to you with.

O, okay. I didn't even knew Vilgaxia had an official name before being renamed by Vilgax... thanks for telling me^^
O, right, I remember this episode. I was shared about it, cause on one side I thought the aliens look silly, on the other I liked how it developped/deconstructed Ben's desire to help everyone and had, I admit, an unexpected ending. I was a bit disappointed it didn't have any sequel or anything, I expected Pobity to use the money to try to have a revenge on Ben or something...
I assume you got the idea for the Osmosian backstory from Aggregor's line about Omosian getting psychotic being a lie from the powerful to control the weak? Cause I thought about that as well to give Aggregor a backstory. Seriously, the guy has no backstory, which is sad because he was otherwise a great villain.
Well, not sure about that idea, cause I always assuled the Violoticus Symbiosis kept finding new alien DNA all the time and that 1000,903 was just the number the Omnitrix happened to have back then. Also, you probably know that Primus got retcon (which by the way I find silly from them; while I had mixed feelings about Primus, just pretending it never existed is a LAME way to remove it. They could have just say the Omnitrix could work independantly from Primus and that it just served as a servor to download new aliens dna or something...).
Now you are interesting me. This idea actually sounds more interesting than some of the last aliens they made^^'
