I did this one last friday, with nankim, and painted with my color pencils just now! These guys are: Keitaro form the anime/manga Love Hina and Botan from YuYu Hakusho.I really wanna read your comments about this one. Practicing my manga style again ^^

Shading was pretty good, but the paper / pencil combination shows (girl's hair and face skin tones) now and then. The dust is awesome and the guy's shirt is great. A lot of people here forget that the white of the paper is also a color, you used it extremely well. And, it is fun
Anime is art; storytelling through pictures. To me pose (poise?) and general attitude can be expressed really well with it. A lot of it is fluff, but there is always that occasional one that'll blow you away, whether it is a strip or movie. Relax and don't worry that it can be silly - same way that you appreciate Shakespeare.
Anyway good job on dd!

cocuba does not have a point. i dont care for this piece either. its nothing i havent seen before. anime/manga is not a 'minority genre'. it just lacks popularity at devart. pieces from the anime/manga genre that get exposure on digital art sites always get comments like 'it's ok, but i don't like anime', or 'it's good to see this kind of stuff get more exposure' or just straight out disrespect. it's all very insulting. im sick of hearing it. we dont need feedback from people who don't even respect it as an art form.

Not terriably original and i have never appreciated Anime, Manga or whateva u wanna call it. Every single character looks the same to me. This is however very well coloured and thats one thing i still cant do =[ So props for that
Try to invent some of your own characters, you obviously have the talent, and think "out of the box"

cocuba has a point, since these are characters already invented.
I'd bet most of you are praising this piece just because it's in a minority genre.
The shadows are a bit dodgy, and the guy's face looks a bit messy. But it *is* very well done for colour pencils, and the clothing folds are done well on her sleeve-thing.

This does not deserve daily deviation. The drawing is nothing special and there are a million other people who draw these stupid anime characters which require no creativity or thought. Nice choice matteo.

man, Im so glad to see some work of this style getting DD. Traditional art is some of my favorite.. and manga rules. Your technique is very well done, it looks almost like it was completely made in illustrator or somethin. But, you said colored pencils? wow man.. you are truly a talented artist. and you been around awhile too, you deserve the recognition man. congrats.

nuriiiiii: You don't need no tutorial, you have pretty cool technique with drawing and colour! LOL, I just think the same of you in this colour question... I screwed with many 'finished' drawings with my ugly colored pencil techs ;D

LOL, it's good to know that SOMETHING I really thought kicked arse got a DD; I was looking at this earlier, and with an envious glance, wanted to pop ya because your colored pencil technique is far advanced than mine.
Ex:
Trudy: Oh god, oh god, I got this far...If I mess up using the colored pencils, I will DIE! I will die! I will rip this into shreds and DIE! ;_;
Not to mention the art is fabulous, dahling, fabulous. So are the poses and the facial expressions.
I think anyone who has enough guts to color an entire picture with colored pencils without going ballistic (like yours truly) certainly deserves a DD.
Now if only you could tutor me in colored pencils...
