whats the button/trigger in the thump rest on the grip for? is it liek a safety?

Thanks and yes it's a grip safety like on the UZI or Colt M1911. Not really necessary from todays point of view on a sniper weapon though.

Its looks like an HK SL8 sniper rifle combined with walther 2000. Looks nice. I like this juxtaposition. well done.
