My dad just brought one of those home with him. ^_^" I thought it looked familiar, so I looked through your gallery.
The actual moths are smaller than I thought they were.

I came up with the username when I found a moth outside and thought it was fuzzy so I kept it in my house for a few days and looked it up online and I loved the name. no problem.

There are a few moths with similar looking weird hairs like that--I think it makes them look more like bird droppings. (just my take on that)

What's up with the stripe down the middle? It seems somewhat out of place against all that white...
Anyhow, it's cute. ^_^
(I showed my dad and he didn't seem to believe you could find a moth this time of year. (shrugs) He also said to tell you they die when it gets below freezing. Although, I don't think he's ever seen one of that type of moth, so how should he know? >_>" )
I need to put up a picture pretty soon... possibly tomorrow if I remember. My dad found some little raccoons in a dumpster tonight and I took pictures of them. ^_^ (They looked at me when I first came, then ignored me after that when trying to get their attention. >_>" Every so often one would glance at me (me tapping and things on the edge of the dumpster), and it seriously looked like it was thinking, "What's up with you?"

Ask God about that one-(s)he made it that way. ^__^
It is one of my favorite moths cos it's late comingout and it's neat looking-the first time I saw one-I was like--WTF? and to top it all off-it was playing daad-I took a bunch of photos (before being internet savvy) and it took quite a while before I found out what it was-not I look for them from Sept to Oct.
And some moths-like the rare Twilight Moth come out while there's still on the ground and it's going below freezing. (I found one) (Rare only cos people don't look for moths in the snow-LOL!)

The Twilight one has a pretty and mysterious name, but it looks like it's not that pretty to look at. ^_^"
My dad's curious about where you can find catapillars, and wonders if they'd be on maples.
I can't remember if I've said this before or not, but he's been trying to find some Cecropia catapillars. Hasn't found any, though. He said he used to catch them and watch them make cocoons and hatch out.
I should put one of my pictures up... assuming I can find a clear one. (My camera kept smeering for some reason... slow shutter speed or something, I guess. I thought turning the flash on would help, but it still happened some. ^_^" )
By the way, You find bears in your trash? O_o
(goes to put my photos on the computer)

Yeah-the Twilight moth-isn't all that pretty and can be pretty strange too-some females don't even have wings!! When I took the photo-I had NO idea it was like a rarely seen moth or I'd have taken better photos...I ran back outside after I found out and it was already gone!!
Cecropias are becoming rather rare I'm told-I have never seen a caterpillar of one. ON the other hand-after the leaves fall-you can usually spot the cocoons ^__^
LOL! Yeah the bears come on the porch in Fall and Spring and dive into the trash cans-they also take my bird feeders and other things that smell tasty..I think in my scraps I have some photos-they aren't good cos I'm not about to go outside and confront them for a good photo (I got some great video though)
One photo is the bear drinking the fountain water and I had wondered where it was all going!! I took the photo-not so good-through the kitchen window right above the little fountain.
Sometimes cameras can be so touchy--I thought I'd broken mine when I dropped it the other day while catching grasshoppers..oh no--it couldn't land int he nice soft grass mind you...it had to fall on a rock!!
I will say this SONY makes a tough product!! That's the 2nd one I dropped on ricks and it still works fine!!(course that time a big snake bit my camera hand--I have learned not to close up on ones face without the strap being on my hand or neck!!) LOL!

My last camera broke without dropping it. ^_^" Hopefully my new one will be better... although it does seem to have a slight focusing problem.
Hmm... This morning there was this huge mosquito-looking thing sitting by the door. Any idea what that is? You'd think it'd be a cranefly, but it has a mane like a mosquito and a large stomach and wings that fold over it.
