Another evening in the calm darkness of the swamps.

While there are things in the neath that can kill you in a flash, leave nothing but your bones in seconds, the swamps of the giant caves takes another approach.

Rather than lounging at its prey, the swamp tends to play a game of patience. It takes the calm waters, the soft waving of the grass, and weaponizes it.

While plenty of sea-captains have tuned their reflexes to an almost supernatural degree (and sometimes actually supernatural) they have often come to underestimate the threats of the slow, of the soft, of the calm.

The swamp bides it time, slowly and without a fuzz is approaches its prey, announcing its presence to such a degree that none but the born denizens of the swamp recognize its malice.

The calm hunt continues, even as it caught its prey. The game of staying hidden reaching new heights, as the swamp reaches into into its prey, anesthetize all of its defenses to the point that its prey feels nothing, nothing but calm.

The stories of sea-captains retiring to the swamps usually ends with their stale bodies being found after days of sitting on their porches. While doing nothing but calmly starring out onto the bleak hard mirror of the swamp, their insides consumed in total calm.

The swamp knows it eventually wins, it always wins.

As such, The swamp remains calm.
