You sighed, pausing in the midst of your mixing as your timer dinged. Setting down the glass bowl, you crossed to the oven and opened the door. The warm breeze ruffled your hair and brought a smile to your face as you retrieved a pumpkin pie from the superheated rack.

Crossing to the fridge, you gingerly deposited your load inside, taking a moment to savor the smell before shutting the door.

You were halfway between the fridge and your mixing bowl when the sound of your doorbell caused you to change direction.

As your socked feet padded across the carpet, you pondered who would be making this impromptu visit, though you already had a suspect in mind.

Sam Winchester.

You couldn't help but smile at the thought of the tall brunette. You and Sam had been seeing each other for a couple months now, and in that time, he had stopped by unexpectedly.

It was difficult to maintain a relationship with his job, but knowing that either of you could die on any given day was enough to make you both enjoy each moment together to the fullest. You had met when The Winchesters had saved you from a cage in the basement of some psychotic band of hillbillies who had added hunting their fellow man to their list of preferred pastimes.

Well, saying that they had saved you outright was a bit of a stretch.

You had been in your cage for a day or two when the family's two sons had tossed Sam into the next cage over. The two of you had spoken at great length. Getting to know each other a little bit, if only to keep each other sane in the insane situation that you had both been tossed into.

He hadn't told you exactly what he did for a living, but you had heard him say about your captors once or twice that they, "were just humans."

You had asked jokingly if he had expected them to be demons or monsters.

His unconvincing attempt to laugh it off had given you all the answer you needed.

It hadn't been a stretch to figure out that he was a Hunter. After all, you had a couple of cousins who were hunters.

At some point, Dean had also made an appearance and the three of you had made your escape.

A lazy smile graced your features as you recalled after the whole ordeal, when you had written your number on the younger Winchester brother's hand and told him to call. The image of his smile as he promised to do so was one of your favorite memories.

The pink tinge to his fine features when you had unexpectedly kissed his cheek to seal the deal was another.

He hadn't wasted any time with that call, and the two of you had been dating ever since.

Reaching the door, you opened it to reveal the Winchesters.

"Hey guys!" You grinned happily at your two visitors.

They smiled back at you before Dean's expression morphed into surprised curiosity, "Woah, what is that smell?"

"I've been doing some baking," you explained, motioning for them to come inside.

"It smells like a frickin' bakery in here!" Dean exclaimed, sniffing the air comically.

You laughed, "Follow your nose to the kitchen, Dean, I made cookies."

With an excited sound, he did as you instructed, trusting his ability to sniff out dessert to lead him to his destination.

Once the blonde had found his way and was out of eye and earshot, you were finally able to turn your attention to Sam.

"Hi Sam," The younger brother crossed to you with a warm smile and you wrapped your arms around his neck in a long awaited hug. It had been a while since the two of you had seen each other and you had missed the feeling of his strong yet slender arms wrapped around your waist, holding you close. If his grip on you was of any indication, he had missed the contact, too.

"Hi there," Sam pulled back with a smile before leaning down and touching his lips to yours in a sweet, yet brief kiss.

Unsatisfied, you stood on your toes and pulled him back down, "Is that it?" You asked softly, closing the gap.

You felt him chuckle as he kissed back, moaning lightly when you tangled your fingers in his hair.

When you pulled away at last, Sam gave you sly smile. "Do you think there's enough dessert to feed Dean while we sneak out and grab dinner?"

"Ooh! Is that apple pie?"

"Oh crap," you grabbed Sam's hand and ran to the kitchen. You stopped in the doorway to see Dean reaching towards a pie that you had pulled out of the oven just a few minutes before. "No, don't!"

The blonde shot you a confused glance, "But-"

"Dean Winchester, you will burn your face off if you try to eat that one right now." You gestured to the fridge, "But there's a berry cobbler and whipped cream in the fridge that won't. There's also vanilla ice cream in the freezer for the apple pie once it's cooler."

At the mention of even more dessert, Dean's green eyes widened as he dashed to the fridge. "You're like a friggin' dessert goddess," Dean muttered as he opened the door and reached inside.

You giggled and rejoined Sam in the hallway, pulling him towards the front door. "Come on, he'll be distracted for hours."

A few steps later, your smile faded as you found a possible problem with the plan.

Sam noticed, "What's wrong?" He asked softly, giving your hand an encouraging squeeze.

"Dean has the keys, doesn't he?"

Sam shook his head, "He left them in the car." Your surprised expression encouraged him to explain, "It's a small town and I told him we wouldn't stay long."

Grin returning full force, you stood on your toes and gave him a peck on the cheek.

"You're a genius."
