Alright, guys, here you are. The last prologue picture. You all know how excited I am to start on the Shire pictures. Like seriously, I'm probably going to start as soon as I hit submit. Actually, there are a few things I should work on first... Time for simultaneous projects I suppose.
Anyways, once again, I'm disappointed in the way Sauron turned out. I think I may have made a mistake in using the dragon dude as his character. Oh well. Too late to turn back now, and in any case, this will probably be the last time I'll have to use him in the pictures.
At least Daring Do looks halfway decent
. If you've stuck with me through these last two less-than-awesome pictures, I promise the next one is going to make up for it (I hope). Maybe I shouldn't promise that before I've even started working on the picture... whatever. I'll do my best!

Really good job! Just finished to watch all the scenes you posted.
On a side note, it took me a moment to notice that you inverted the hand wearing the ring D: (I smell that you mirrored the whole thing for the title position).

Yeah, this one and the last one were both pretty poorly planned out, and it definitely shows in the end result. I'm using it as a learning experience, and making sure I have a clear idea of what I want in each picture before I begin in the future.
On that note, I'm very happy with what I've done so far on the first Shire scene, and if I'm happy with it, I know everyone that sees it will be happy with it (well, maybe not everyone, but you know what I mean). Thanks for the watch!

At the very least, all we'll see of Sauron is him as an eye later on.
Sad that we won't see more of Octavia until the Hobbits make it to Rivendell. But the fact that there will now be Hobbits will make up for it.
On a side note, are you picking scenes based off of the movies or the books of LotR? I am only asking because A. I forget if you said so earlier and B. the movies lefts out a lot of scenes (like that one in the Shire at the end of the Return of the King)

I'm doing scenes from both! There are certain things I like better in the books, and other things I like better from the movies. For example, I plan on doing pictures for the Old Forest and Tom Bombadil, and I like how the hobbits all seem more capable in general in the books, however, I like that the tension between Aragorn and Boromir is so much more palpable in the movies than the books, and I like that Aragorn is given to opportunity to take the ring from Frodo in the movies, and declines with his "I would have followed you to the end," line.
So, yeah, scenes from both. Hopefully that doesn't end up causing any weird conflicts.
The scenes in the shire at the end of the books are some that I actually haven't decided if I'm going to do yet though.

The way that I feel about the end of the book scenes in the Shire is that I felt that throughout the story, Merry and Pippin didn't hold their own, didn't do much of anything, didn't become the heroes to the Shire that they are until the end where they stood up to Saruman and took back the Shire. Were they instrumental in key parts of the story, yes. But...I don't know. This is just how I feel about it.
For you, there is probably no need to rush into making a decision for there is a long way to go before you reach this point in the story. And your decision could change multiple times between now and then. All I'm saying is this: No matter what you choose, I'm sure that most, if not all, will be pleased with your work.

Well I still think you could have done a pony for him but its still a nice piece, the only thing I would change would his eye to a slit seeing as one he is a dragon and then after this he is a giant fiery reptile eye.

Sauron didn't have a body after this anyway. So at least you never have to use him again.
