It was probably less, chesty coughs spluttering out of his chest as he reached sanctuary. But still, he needed a bit of hope.
The monorail was locked shut, and over the railing he could see the sprawl. The Cloud reached out for miles, bathing Vegas in residue and radiation. The Ultra-Luxe stood behind a shroud of red, the Strip's most refined casino basking in darkness.
And that was his next destination.
