Of course he'd sort of forgotten the fundamental issue - he had absolutely no clue how to fly. So after a few gut twisting spins and rolls, the old machine found itself smashing against a wall and beaching itself like a foolish whale.
Alarms rang and voices howled, hundreds of eyes a terrible green making theirselves known. The Bard drew out his rifle and checked his rounds; despair was instantly repressed by stubbornness. He'd ended up just where he needed to be. If this was his fate, he'd see through it to the end.
