Description

The arrival of the heir was the main subject that was spoken about for days, though few actually got to see the new child to begin with. All that was said, was that their leader was recovering from birth, and she was not to be disturbed in any instance. Quiet whispers flew, the news that the new heir was actually a female, not male as predicted, spread like wildfire, though the circuit was not opposed. The females within the Carlisle circuit often held more of a rank than the males did, due to their current leader of course. Although Garek ruled by her side, it was very obvious who was the boss between them... Garek had even given up his own surname to join with hers, instead of the other way round.
Though young had already been born into the Carlisles, none were of the main family, and were not expected to carry such heavy duties at a young age. If anything, they would become the next generation of backbone to the circuit. Though now the little Celica was the youngest, and the most anticipated arrival. As suspected, a few days after birth, Mae emerged, the new addition following behind rather closely. Her eyes were open and wide, though that was probably more due to the dark interior of the building, only thrown more into blackened depths as the sky drew into night. At the appearance of Mae, the Carlisle's seemed to rally, once more glad to see their leader come forth to command her ways. The clouds above threatened to burst with rain at any moment, but it held off, some even parting to let a sliver of starlight through, patches of glittering night that caught the young Celica's attention and held her gaze intently.
It was now, as the green Celica emerged for the first time, that she cleared her throat loudly, grasping the attention of all those that had summoned around her, brown eyes glaring back at them.
"Today... is the first trial" She seemed to call with purpose, before she shot a gaze to the small car next to her. "A trial to earn her name"
Cries and cheers erupted around the dark and heated place, the black Celica's tires hurting a little as the ground seemed to grow a little hotter... she didn't like this place. Oil drums burned around them, some exploding randomly, the base a rather unstable and unsanitary place to be... it was a wonder there were still this many cars around. The air was humid and thick suddenly, choking the babies lungs, her coughing drowned out by the chorus of loud calls and whoops around her.

The young Celica didn't know what a trial was, or what her mother was talking about, but all she knew was to stay close... make sure she didn't stray. Mae moved, and with that, the child followed, through tunnels and blackened rooms, and finally into a large pen. The walls curved in a circle, three cars tall, before opening out into the sky above. Chicken wire had been attached to the top of the walls, though there were holes, and a lot was badly damaged from previous engagement it seemed. Mae looked up and around to her followers, who all had now circled by the fencing, staring hard into the pen in a chaos of confusion and noise, all pushing and shoving, eager to see the event below. With a slight nudge, Mae pushed the child to the center, turning and moving away rather rapidly, whilst the baby stared wide eyed at all her cousins jeering down upon her. She wasn't to know what came next, as a large Rav 4 entered the pen with her, Mae all but gone. The young Celica turned, oil running cold as she realized that her mother was nowhere to be seen, and instead this... beast stood in her place. Unsure, she backed away, eyes hurriedly darting through the faces she saw to try and find the one she recognized. Eventually, the caught glimpse of the older Celica, Mae now standing on a podium that looked out over the pen, but still able to address the audience.

"My dear family... we all know that a Carlisle must be of the very best in order to function in this circuit... murder... bludgeoning... drug trafficking... each Carlisle excels at something. With luck... my daughter, your heir, will be able to handle it all" Mae finished with some resolve, earning more cheers and cries from those who looked on. A large explosion shook the ground as they chorused, paying no heed to the fire and smoke, only using it to fuel their adrenaline even more.
The young Celica had meanwhile backed away, scared and quivering, wanting to be away from the gigantic vehicle that faced her. The noise.. the smell... everything was too much, and she felt her terror only rise with each passing second. An unspoken word seemed to pass between the Toyota in the pen and Mae, the Rav 4 lunging forward, and instantly knocking the tiny car to the side. Pain radiated through her frame, and she cried out in fear, getting to her tires quickly, before spinning wildly around. She trembled and sunk on the spot as she saw the large Toyota turn once more, the small Celica crying out once more as she attempted to flee the next charge, though wasn't fast enough. He caught the back end to her bumper, sending her spinning once more, and crashing her side up against the wall. Small whimpers left the car, trying to push herself up as tears streamed down her sides. She didn't understand what was going on... why was there so much pain? She could only whimper and sob in front of the large car, attempting to hide her face with her tires, as the Rav came in for another attack. Moments before contact, a voice rang out, halting everything.

"ENOUGH!" Mae cried, staring with hard eyes at the scene before her. She seemed to snarl, her tire tapping irritably.
"I expected young of mine to put up more of a fight... not sit and cower" She seemed to snap, before vanishing from her podium, only to reappear moments later, back in the pen. The Rav 4 backed away, letting the leader access her daughter, who dashed toward Mae, though limping a little as she did so, a small oil leak having already sprung up. Mae could only watch with disapproval, not wanting to fully believe that this was the daughter she was stuck with, rebuffing the Celica's attempts to nuzzle. With a sigh, she turned and left, child in tow, leaving the rest of the Carlisles looking on, pondering what was to be expected next.

Another chapterrrr in Shadow's back story. This was a more recently developed idea, and something that takes place a few times, I don't know if I'll go through all of them, but i'll try to cover as much as I can.
Image is more basic, cause 1) I've had a major headache all day and 2) I'm taking job interviews at the moment and between studying for them and actually doing them, I don't have a lot of time right now!
