Description

1am struck, an eerie silence having fallen across the usually active base, the fires simmering low and providing little light to the darkened shadows. Whispers crept along the walls, eyes shifting and steady as news was awaited, laboured cries having settled, nothing but the humid air hanging above them all. A Fortuner seemed to be driving back and forth, his mind a chaotic mess of questions that had no answers, straining to hear any tell tale noise, anything that would tell him things were normal. It was the beginning of an era, he could feel it. The start of a long legacy... the birth of his long awaited son. He snapped at any cars that came near, eyes glaring and fierce, daring for anyone to oppose him... of course nobody would. They shrank away from the large Toyota, his dominance over them rather well exerted, his engine revving and rumbling in impatience.
The Carlisle circuit had grown since it's early days... when Mae had over taken her fathers lead on the family, slowly twisting and shaping the circuit into something much more cruel and sinister. Now, they had an empire at their tires, with no one in their way from taking the United Kingdom by storm. Drugs and torture seemed to be their main focus.. it was amazing what information you could take from an individual once you had twisted their tire enough, or torn off. Mae and Garek had met early on in Mae's reign, the two vehicles sharing a unique twisted view that you could say made them perfect for one another. The more sensical side of the family could only watch in horror, beginning to slip away from the main Carlisles, to hide in safety if anything. So, after hearing a few years in that Mae was expecting their first child, excitement had spread like a wildfire through the ranks, all excited to know that the Carlisle name would continue on thorugh a new heir, more twisted and evil than their parents. A son was what was wanted, a son to carry the strength of his father, and the wickedness of his mother, and it had been determined that a son was indeed what Mae carried, the two cars more than overjoyed. Preperations were put in place, in order to ensure the quick learning of the new arrival, and to maximise all potential. The Carlisle circuit itself was based in a large abandoned airport, found in the South East of England, complete with a series of dark underground tunnels that led to the outside world, as well as the depleted and rotting insides of the above ground levels. Always crawling with Toyotas, it was a rather deadly place to be if you happened to get lost.
The labour came quickly, and Mae was determined to be left alone, keeping within the darkness, and choosing the best place to to comfortably give birth. Though this also meant it was unknown if the delivery had been successful, nothing but the cracks and snapping of fire to meet their ears. When it seemed that perhaps Garek would wait no more, a horn sounded, slightly distant and echoed, coming from one of the above ground levels. Garek's hood raised as his body froze, tense and poised, listening again for the familiar sound. The horn sounded once more, and the Fortuner bolted, tearing through the airport base as if his life depended upon it, flying up the closest ramp to finally lay eyes upon the green Toyota, her eyes focused elsewhere. He approached slowly, seeing that her mood wasn't... what he expected.

"Mae... did he survive?" He asked with almost baited breath, seeing her eyes dart to his own, an almost hidden anger behind them. When he first met Mae, this look always took him by surprise, but now it didn't hold a flame, even half expecting the look occasionally. His eyes fell just a little, to see a black shape bundled at his wife's side, the Fortuner creeping closer ever so slowly, though Mae seemed unconcerned.

"She" Suddenly came the snap of Mae's voice, echoing through the hallway.
"She?" Garek questioned, finally seeing the smaller Celica in the growing light.
"The damn doctor was wrong. It's a she." Came the reply, causing Garek's gaze to once more hold her own.
"A..... female"
"No son. Just... this" Mae spoke with almost disgust tinging her voice, knocking the baby slightly with her tire. The sleeping Celica seemed to awaken at this, tears filling her eyes as she began to fuss, only to be ignored by the older Celica.

"Dear, she might need to eat-"
"She won't survive anyway. She's weak... what kind of heir will she be? I'm rather willing to just... forget this one" Mae snapped, eyes glaring at Garek. He held his ground, approaching her side as he studied the small child, pursing his lips.
"This child is a combination of us both... She may not have the strong physical capabilities that we were after... but she'll be clever... quick witted, and she'll carry the most important parts we need. She'll be the one that leads the Carlisle family into greater and better things. She's our legacy" Garek spoke now, watching as Mae seemed to consider this.

"Fine, I'll give her a chance. Though she won't be named until she proves herself"

So I decided to go back and start drawing about Shadow's back story, and I'm gonna redraw the bits I had already done, as I think my art has improved enough for it to actually look different XD
So here we are, more to come!
It's weird seeing shadow in normal tires. and no stripes. why.
