Description Well, I jumped on the meme bandwagon. This is just some of my artistic influences -- I could probably fill out half a dozen more of these and not come close to all my influences. I’m sure some of these come to no surprise to anyone.

Good stuff!
I think Chris Allan had one of the best takes on TMNT. I'd love to get a collection of his run on Archie TMNT.
And it was not until just the other day that I REALLY got to see what Dungeons & Dragons really was. Streets of Rage/ Final Fight with Fantasy characters. And also like a side scrolling Dungeon Siege! (Not isometric view I mean). Thanks youtube. Oh, & the whole section of guidebooks of it at Barnes N Nobles on 86 street.

Thought to fill this out to. Must get unlazy about it....

I picked up an all black and white copy of the Future story Chris Allan did. I really like it better without the color. I can't find it on Amazon or else I'd give you a link to it.

erm... I'm talking table top gaming D&D. Aside from just picking up Dragon Age, I've never played any of the other D&D video games. D&D's been around a lot longer than Final Fantasy. I love the art in all the gaming book, you can actually see most of the art from the books on the official website: [link]

No problem. I'll just google search.

Ah yes I've seen them in passing at Barne's N Noble 86st. It seems like that section grew. D&D is as popular as ever!
I'm not sure which one I saw on youtube. But for every franchise, I guess a videogame tie-in is inevitable.

So far I actually like Final Fantasy 13 & would like an artbook of it.

I just got a glimpse of a D&D artbook a few days ago. Nice stuff, though the store was closing for the night.
And went to a flea market where someone was selling his old D&D & Everquest guides.I wanted to buy one (the one that wasn't rain-damaged with pages stuck together), but the guy was nowhere in sight, & I had to go. To bad for him, no sale I guess.

Thanks for the link!

It's too bad I don't live closer anymore, you're one of the few people I can trust with my books and I wouldn't have minded lending it out. I swear I flip through it everyday. *LOL*

It does seem like D&D has grown. I remember in the 80s people freaking out and calling people who played D&D cultists or satanists. You had to hunt around in the scary hobby shops with the guys more frightening than the comic book junkies. NOW they're advertising it as something for the family to play together. Oh how times have changed.

I've got a few D&D books, and there's a million and one of them out there that I want, even though I don't know anyone who games around here... and its been so many years, I'd need a refresher course.

Aww thankies!
It's cool! Gotta remember to peruse the site one day. There's alotta sites I gotta visit now that I've gotten lotsa business cards from the NYC Comicon (2 or 3 weeks ago). So far I've looked up 2 sites...I'm doin' good maybe...

...wow..they called D&D players "Satanists"? That's bit more harsher than what I used to here about D&D players & magic the gathering players & so forth. Up here when I was in high school I at least used to hear something along the lines of "those nerds (the "nerdiest" kind of nerd to have ever existed that is) who sit in the dark corners & keep to themselves & are to busy to pay attention to anybody because they're too immersed in their game. Don't bother to date them 'cause they're too busy being into their game."
But when I think about that statement, it sounds like the same kind of thinking that goes "popularity & dating is more important than having a high school diploma & actually GRADUATING high school & never ever having to go back! Or staying & take night school classes to catch up the classes I failed until the rest of my life 'till 21, where there after I may have to eternally take night classes to earn my GED!". ..and such.
Frankly (I think I might sound kinda mean, but) it's kids knowing only so little about the whole world & ultimately telling each other what "reality" is. Plenty of proof of teenagers & early college age students can be found in youtube blogging, where just about all of them are "shocked to see the many different cultures & lifestyles & interests that their peers lead on this planet, as well as older folk". ...or so that seems to me when they mouth off in their opinion vlogs. ...just sayin'..
Everybody thinks they know what is better than the next person & "everybody hates everybody on youtube" so the saying goes.

D&D for the family! LOL, yup that shelf at Borders for D&D books is HUGE! But it's good to see that it's flourishing! And competing with "all those JRPG's"! (I like my jrpg's though, just sayin' ..Dragon Age Origins looks cool though. & Diablo as well. And Record of Lodoss Wars for the dreamcast as well. )

Thinking about that though, it gives me some hope that if I stick with my project & turn it into a franchise that it has the possibility of flourishing like that one day.

Yes....there's..ALOT..of those books. Will visit that shelf when I'm Borders again. Hopefully with money this time.
