The ODT, or Orbital Drop Trooper is the Orion Spur Alliance's main Shocktrooper, capable of being dropped from low orbit in a variety of drop pods, main the BX-420 Infantry Drop Pod. Which only carries one per pod but is cheap and reusable. The ODT's use Byzantine B67 Assault Carbines and H60 Assault Rifles as their main weapons, on top with thermal grenades, flashbangs and C41 Explosives (detonator included). The ODT has a more simple version of the Jet Trooper's life support system, allowing them to be able to do a 1 hour EVA when necessary. Their Visors use macro-binocular technology to increase how far an ODT can see by being able to zoom in on an object/area, as well as being able to allow the ODT to have the best peripheral vision (despite this however, they ended up with the same level as standard Army Troopers, which was fine). heir boots can magnetise to metal surfaces.

Their integrated wrist holo-interface and HUD show allied positions, enemy positions (if any are detected), allied ID, how far a target is in low visibility situations, this however is restricted to night time operations/missions. They are one of they more unique units because of all this equipment.

ODTs are usually carried in specialised corvettes or cruisers unless in mass deployment. These kinds of ships are usually equipped with drop pod bays and can deploy drop pods almost in mass quantities, these groups are often referred to as 'drop squadrons' and not to be confused with and ODT squad, a squad of ODTs is called a squad of ODTs or an ODT Squadron. One of the more famous Drop Squadrons is Impact Squadron, who are very good at what they do. ODTs do share the role of Shocktrooper with the Division 1 Troopers but the Division 1 Troopers are more like the late Galactic Republic's Clone ARC Troopers, so the main Shocktroopers of the Orion Spur Alliance is the ODT. ODTs do have a tendency to bring snacks (such as cookies) into combat and sit down, one of them was caught sharing with a Valentian Stormtrooper, who politely asked and later defected to the Orion Spur Alliance. He was not disappointed when he saw the ODT Division's cafeteria had more cookies.
