Discovered in the late 22nd Century by a Lambdan named Thomas Burgess, who at the time, wasn't really well known until his discovery. He found the system after helping survey the Zeus system, he was the first explorer to reach Burgess' Star and he quickly discovered the world of Australis. The third planet from the sun and homeworld of the Evien species, which at the time, was going through their bronze age.

The newly formed Australian Colonial Commonwealth quickly entered the system and began colonizing, carefully avoiding any native civilisations while establishing their presence on Australis and its moon, Socius (It soon be discovered that Socius would only be able to support microscopic life, so the climate impact of industrialisation wouldn't be felt). This was before the International law Firm put up strict restrictions and regulations dealing with primitive civilisations and colonisation.

Overtime, as both civilisations developed, the culture of the Eviens, and the Colonists influenced each other. With research being put into many fields of study, making Australis a scientific hub, the cultural research of the Eviens is very prevalent, even translating their language has resulted in influencing the colonists' culture.

Australis would also become a well fortified world, the fiftieth most fortified to be exact with its six Mjolnir-Class Jumpgun Battlestations and various orbital stations, even the Erydon Space Elevator is well protected. The city of Erydon itself is very prosperous and is full of military installations built over the centuries, however they wouldn't be enough to prevent the disaster of 2846 in the 29th Century.

While during the Invasion of The Rift in the late 2830s early 2840s, a massive rise in religious cults within the UN began to occur, it even spread to Earth itself (only minimally though), most of these cults rose in The Fringes as this area is the least patrolled and enforced area, with only a few major UNDC bases until the late 2840s. One of the religious cults, the Children of Holy Fire, would engage in terrorist attacks on fringe settlements during this time until they would send asteroids at Australis at high speeds on August 10th, 2846. This would end up killing millions of people, especially the Eviens, which were in their Medieval period at the time. This would first lead to humanitarian efforts to help the locals rebuild and even finally integrate the Eviens into the wider Australian Colonial Commonwealth. However, the disaster also quickly lead to the end of the Children of Holy Fire, as the Commonwealth labelled them as terrorists and then proceeded to approve the bill known as the No Mercy For Cowards Act, which allowed the Australian Colonial Commonwealth to hunt down and eliminate any and all terrorist organisations without mercy, either capturing or outright killing any terrorists in their strongholds.

The first ones to go were the Children of Holy Fire, completely eliminated with minimal civilian casualties. These also lead to the absolute destruction of other notable terrorist organisations and cults across the Fringes within Commonwealth borders. Many small terrorist orgs had to retreat to the Zar Yun Empire in 2849, as many other nations were simply allowing, or worse working with the Australian Colonial Commonwealth to destroy any terrorist stronghold.

To this day, the Australian Colonial Commonwealth has been waiting for the chance to avenge those that died on August 10th, and with the outbreak of the Zar Yun-Orion Arm War, the Australian Colonial Commonwealth made their strike from behind, going after the remaining terrorist strongholds within their borders and seeking to take out the Zar Yun Empire for the insane Civil Rights violations.
