Description
Piece drawn during church, with hangers-on watching me. Oi, talk about an audience. To be honest, I think specific people watch me on Sundays, knowing that I'm going to draw something. And I don't know if that makes me a bad example, or not...?
The kids in the back are Kaning (girl) and Roka (boy). And so it is that the boy in "The Second to Last Airbender" grows up.
Title inspired by Kathy Mattea, the artist whose songs "Dance a Little Closer" and "Where've You Been?" also inspired the image itself. Aang, Katar, the Southern Air Temple, and Appa all belong to Mike, Bryan, Nickelodeon, and Viacom. Kaning and Roka belong to me.
------------
'Without fail, he was perpetually leaving for some duty or another. Always to deal with an imbalance, or an uprising. And I missed him--I did. But the one thing about my father you could always rely on was that he would come back. Running to my mother before anyone else, open armed.
Uncle Sokka had explained it once for my sister and I, in a way I'll never forget.'
"You see, Aang," 'he'd begun slowly, as though tasting his words before spitting them out,' "he saved the world, right? But he didn't save the world, for the worl'd sake. He saved it so that Katara would be saved. He saved the world for Katara's sake."
'Even years later and feet taller, I'll never forget what my Uncle said. Because it was that day that my father changed from being just my dad, or even the Avatar. But became a hero to me, within my own eyes.'

To stay awake! *laughs* Even though I usually get enough sleep the night before, I typically have to be doing at least two things at once in order to focus on what's going on. If I draw I don't have to worry about dialogue and plot, so technically the 'text' I'm listening to is the lesson.
And I know you meant that as a joke, you silly person. But you know that I always react seriously to questions. *shakes finger mock-scoldingly* At least at first anyway. XD

Many thanks. This is one of my favorites. And, yes, I am working on SSU. I promise. *laughs*

I enjoyed reading his flashback. I think you should make this and the rest of the pictures associated with this into a story. I think it would be so awesome! And although, I have yet to catch up my reading in your other story, I really would do my best to read this. Something about three active children seems to keep me busy....I don't get that.
CHEERS!

Yeah, I'm actually thinking of making two separate stories. One about the adults (okay, I love Sukka, but I'm also a Tokka fan. So it all started with me thinking out how both couples would work without me betraying either, which led to plot and etcetera). And the second about the children, with the next generation.
Which will lead to more updates...*coughs innocently* I have a whole bunch to post, that I doodled during the time the printer was packed away.
