Description
I am allowed to say that this character design is awesome, because I didn't draw it. ^_^This was a collaboration with ~Gonmon . He did the line art, and I colored it in with Photoshop. It is not the last time we collaborated, but it is probably the best so far. Psst... ~Gonmon is awesome. He's made some really bizarre stuff lately, check it out.
The way I shaded the metal was rather complex, and I love the way it turned out.
The trickiest bit was the hair. It was drawn with dark lines over a white background, and I turned part of it into bright lines over a dark background. The transition needs work.
Anyhow, this is supposed to be Samus, from Metroid, but without her classic suit.

So the Justin Bailey code was Samus needing to jury-rig her suit after it got fried? Awesome.

That would be cool if Samus appeared in a game with this look. Maybe in a spin-off or something. Great work!

Wow nice. I like how she looks tough even without her suit. Many people think she is nothing without it.
Also, something not dirty

This design is fantastic. The steampunk goggles, industrial cut armour, and especially the green hair.
(I'm so glad this isn't another blond Samus. I am of the old school and this is how I always remember Samus and always will.)
This even shares a style with some of Blizzard's Starcraft concept art that I've seen.

I would much prefer it if this was how Samus was depicted outside of her armour. The Zero Suit turned her from a Ripley-esque badass into a fanservice symbol.
This, however, is fantastic.

Kinda looks like a Steampunk Samus... Metroid in a steampunk setting would be badass.

I like the way you portray movement with the figure although the right leg seems to be a little too straight for her to be stablizing herself while sliding. That doesn't make it any less beutiful though!

Well, the line art for this one was drawn by ~Gonmon , but I was the one who added the dust indicating that she's sliding, so I dunno who to blame for that. But I think realism was not Gonmon's intent here. ^_~ His art is always very stylized.

I love the way you did the parts of her armor like that.. And green hair or blond, it's still a good pic..

Ironically, the arm that resembles her power suit armor is the one that normally doesn't have a hand, but it does here. *shrugs* I didn't draw it. But yes, I love the asymmetrical armor design here too. ^_^

Cool, but... why does she have green hair? I thought Samus had blond hair, even in the orginal game...

Heehee... So, her hair color is the subject of much controversy. In the original Metroid, her hair was either brown or green, depending on whether you found the Varia powerup yet. I suspect that most people who played the original Metroid saw her with green hair first, because they either used the Justin Bailey code, which gives you suitless Samus and the Varia powerup, or they beat the game to unlock suitless Samus, and by then they probably already found the Varia powerup. So, a lot of Samus fan art back then gave her green hair. Besides, green hair is just cooler than brown.
Later games gave Samus blonde hair for some reason, and have been fairly consisten about that, though there was actually some official art for Super Metroid that gave Samus purple hair. I have even seen some fan art that gave her blue hair. But green remains the favorite color for many of the older Metroid fans.

Hmm... an expert, I see. ;D I've loved the metroid games, but never played the orginal.

Far from it. You guys don't realize, but they couldn't create the color for her hair properly, so she ended up with either horrid ugly brown hair, or green hair, since the color palette was so restricted back then.
