Description
The PredatorI am no cute puss. I am a tough, aggressive and dominant feral cat. If you are a human or another cat, don’t even try to get close to me: I am bad tempered, I hiss and the food is all mine… the rest of the colony doesn’t stand a chance!
---
p.s. I placed this photo under the "wild" animals category because though cats are usually domesticated, this animal was born and grew up in the wild. This is in no way a domesticated animal and should not be placed into that category.
Thank you so much to ~sassy-alley-cat and ©suzi9mm for the DD!

"I'm going to eat your face"
She looks like a real Buster.
I love the depth of field that you used here to get the head in focus and the rest of the background blurred out. The fur and whiskers really just pop. Great Job!!! Good capture with the pose. It is a good sharp picture. Great quality all around. Shows the other side of cats really well not just the furry friendly side. She fights for survival in the feral world.

teres nothing special here. its just af half boring picture a kitty, with some enhanced colors.
there has been so unbelivable many pictures of kitties - and they were all the same. its getting so unoriginal, just like the naked pictures are.

As a human, my first thought is.
"Awww!!! Cute kitty is trying to be tough."
As another cat, my first thought is
"Yipe! This is *your* yard? A thousand apologies...I'll just be going...now....*puffs up and shoots off an the other direction like a furry lightning bolt*"

Thank you! Actually, I used my telephoto lense to take this. I don't think that she would have ever let me get close enough to be able to use my macro.

There is an indescribable difference in appearance between feral cats and cats raised domestically. Perhaps it's a subtle, agressive shift in posture, or possibly a distrusful narrowing of the eyes, or maybe just a little spark of realization as some instinct inside us recognizes a predator. Whatever it is, you've captured it here. Well done.

Well apart from the fact that physicaly she's still a cat. Personality wise, very much a wildcat.

Wow! Taken in natural 4PM sunlight, huh??
That's definately perfect a perfect picture, including the bit of luck needed to have the cat just where you wanted it... or are YOU just where it wants YOU?
Well, either way, I love the picture, I love cats, and I love the lighting.
The way it hits the head of the cat shows you that it isn't a clean, wonderfully preened feline like most domesticated cats, giving it the dirtier look that is found with feral cats. A bit dangerous of a photo too! Not quite putting your head in the lion's mouth, but close to it!

I think that it was a combination of me being where she wanted me and her being where I wanted her... She was basically telling me not to get any closer, but that was perfect for me because she was at just the right distance for this picture.

She lives in the forest near my cottage with a whole colony of wild, feral cats (as far as we can tell she's the leader). Friends of ours feed these cats on their back porch (they leave food out; you can't get close enough to them to feed them from your hand or anything) and invited us one day to see them.
