Description Only thing keeping him from being a real hero is that he doesn't wear a funny costume and has no extraordinary super powers.

But than again ... kicking the US government, US army and pentagon in the ass, calling them bastards, declaring an act of anti-authoritarian anarchism and walk away without a single scratch ... that would look unreal even for a superman movie .. and yet he did it without costume or superpowers

It's a privilege to live in the time of Julian Assange! Surely .. he is a true inspiration for every intelligent and clear headed person!

His only crime was revealing government information that should've been transparent in the first place.

shamantrixx In reply to salmanshah [2010-12-07 09:50:50 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure if I understand your question since HD should be 1920×1080 px while this one is 2284x1982 px... so it's even more than HD.

Of course, you're free to download and resize the image if you need to do so for whatever the reason might be (as long as you're not selling it).

Anyway... I Hope this addresses your question.

Well, it really doesn't matter if he is arrested or now, or even if WikiLeaks goes down. The governments of the world are just resisting what is an unavoidable shift in our society, and that shift is this: There is no such thing as privacy any more, and we just have to live with that fact.

This man is not long for the world.
He needs to watch out for low-flying knives, if he does indeed have information on EVERY country in the world, he is making some very powerful enemies with some of the worst elements of human civilisaton.
I do not agree with what he's doing, but I'm sure he has a family and I am somewhat afraid that he is going to get himself hurt...or worse.

Today more leaks have been revealed. Apparently Hilary Clinton wanted to spy on the UN, Arab states are urging America to invade Iran and there are plans for a unified Korea.
I understand many of you dislike America and the manner in which it conducts business. But politics is a dirty game and sometimes one must shake the devils hand to attain the keys to Heaven.
It's a complex world full of moral compromises most of us cannot imagine having to make.

This man is an idealist and whilst I admire his zeal, he is trying to change a world which needs a certain level of duplicity and immorality to function at a workable level. If that makes any sense.

the usa gov't simply wants to rule it all. which MAY not be possible. that is why he does it. i dont want to give all my personal info out to a government that wants it simply because of a possible terrorist attack they caused themselves. you harvest what youve sown, and the usa has sown enemies allover the world!

SaxonPride In reply to CREAPx [2010-12-05 12:54:52 +0000 UTC]

Do you mean that in a karmic sense of retribution for past sins? Or that al Queda murdered 3000 innocent men, women and children to avenge American misdeeds overseas?
However you want to spin it, 9/11 was an atrocity and whilst I won't debate that American conduct has been poor in nations such as Chile or the Dominican Republic, I would ask you to consider why the Americans felt it necessary to do such awful things.

We know that the Americans set up regimes like those of Pinochet and Trujillo. But why did they do it? Because these monsters they created were the enemies of their enemies. The Communists were a force for evil in the world and in order to defeat such savages it was necessary to make a number of very questionable, immoral decisions.

The murder of children, carpet bombing entire cities, elevating murderers and drug dealers to Godlike levels of authority. All these actions may not have been right, but they were required to shift the balance of power in their favour. Cruel necessity. The world is a barbaric place and to thrive in such a world requires certain moral compromises.

But I'd still take a morally compromised America over either a Communistic world or a world held in fear by a bunch of religious fanatics, homophobes and sexists.
Julian Assange is not a bad man, as I said, I respect his guts for doing this. But I think his flaw is the flaw of other figures throughout history: Jesus Christ, Gandhi, Robespierre.

Assange does not view the world as it IS, he views the world as it SHOULD BE. Do you see what I'm getting at?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CREAPx In reply to SaxonPride [2010-12-05 19:50:05 +0000 UTC]

i see what youre getting at. but when a regime as the usa regime gets at a point like this, its time for a switch. they turn everything in their favor but not for their ppl, only for their money. and if his flaw is a flaw like those ppl you mentioned...hes out for something big.

Your comment would be plausible if you could produce some evidence for the theory that:

"a world needs a certain level of duplicity and immorality to function at a workable level."

Until that your claim is pretty much arbitrary assumption. As such it is no better than any other arbitrary assumption that anyone else could come up with.

Thou I would love to hear an argument for that claim if there is one.

It's the mission to fight for freedom of information that matters, not the people who do it.
I support the pursuit, not the public figures representing it, since everything inevitably disappoints you, but the pursuit remains untouched even through the harshest of times... it's the unheard unknown minds (people in obscurity) that fight for nothing, but freedom that are the true hero here.

Good artwork, well said.
