Description
I don't know if I can submit this in the Fractal section, since I slightly adjusted it......but I swear the only thing I modified is its right eye, which I enhanced since it was all dark
I think it's astonishing
if you look closer, you'll notice it's carrying a small turtle on its head!
I think this image can only mean wisdom and long life to any viewer

Very impressive, I love the starkness of it!

aww, I really thank you for your favour - and the time you spent in watching and commenting my works!
I deeply appreciate it

Oh looks indeed like an owl!
It also looks like one of the space ship crew members from Farscape (can't remember his name right now)
And don't worry about the section, it still is fractal art despite the very slight and light alterations

Ooh, I like the owl! The owl is cool! I can't see the turtle... But I really love the owl! The fact that I really like owls probably has something to do with my enthusiasm for this piece. It's so fuzzy and feathery! Great work!

I'm very happy you like owls in general, therefore I'm happy for my owl too!
I also like them - they look like plush toys - although I'm sure rats snakes and rabbits don't share my opinion...

I went to look for your owl- I found it and, as I posted in there, it really looks a lot like mine - well, vice versa, since yours is older than mine- it's like the fractal formulas were very similar as a start, and then, oddily enough, we choosed the same variations to get to it... but this is very odd and unlikely to happen...
...and what looks like a pineapple in yours has turned into a cone pine in mine - really amazing

I love it when a fractal seems to be made for a white background. as your owl is...the center area between the eyes and nose is really kool, looks like it is quilted!!! Very nice work!!!

thank you, but as I stated below it, I did very little - it was already there, almost like it is... my merit stays only in the patience it takes to fish a good fractal among thousands of pretty boring ones!
...hey, I have an idea - I'll put the original Apophysis one in my scraps - so everybody will see how amazing it was right from the start - maybe somebody could even enjoy the coloured version more! I'm gonna do it right now

teddybearcholla In reply to sharkcloud [2005-07-23 12:29:17 +0000 UTC]
but the :fishing: is what is important, and then what you do with the one you caught after you reel it in!!! It also helps to have a good eye for design and composition!! I will check out your scraps a little later, I have to get off line in a bit, I have dial up Yucky, and Mom is waiting for a phone call!!!

thank you so much, john!
working with fractals is something slightly different from traditional digital art - basicly, all the effort is done by a software - Apophysis is the one I use, but there are many others - a software that turns really complex mathematic formulas into graphics called 'flames' , some of which really stunning for beauty and complexity - what it's amazing is you never get the same twice, like with snowflakes - each one is unique, and unless you save it, it will be lost forever

hello again sharkcloud
the fractals certainly look very immpressive.
do i have to be good at mathematics to use them.
and how much does the fractal programme cost.
i will try anything
ps: did you get my art rage masterpiece:giggles:
see u soon

I just received both your messages minutes ago
oh, john, that's sooo cute! and I love you painted a sail - sails are beautiful to me,
I don' remember if I ever told you I hade a small sailing boat, many years ago -
I sailed through the lake of Como, those had been days!
this is a wonderful first attempt, I really like it!
...and it's dedicated to me!!!
thank you thank you thank you

sharkcloud In reply to john93 [2005-07-21 17:55:20 +0000 UTC]
why do you call your lovely painting "sad", my friend?
it's everything but sad!!! ...it's colourful, sweet to the eye, with all those rounded lines, vibrant with sunny colours...
no, I don't give you my permission to call it sad! I told you, it makes me smile and think of the joy of summer and freedom - and I'll respect your request, and I won't show it anybody else than my sister - but I think you are wrong if you are ashamed of this work - you should not, it's beautiful.
you seem to be not too happy to visit your sisters - you don't get along well? I hope you will find something good and positive in this visit to them, I wish you the best!
thank you so much for your dedication!
many many hugs from your sharkey friend

and it all ways rains when i down there so i end up with a cold which i cant afford to have with my epilepsy
i was only to pleased to dedicate that picture
i will have to find a picture on the internet to see what lake como is like
see u soon sharkey

ooh, no, don't get a cold!
as your sister doesn't allow you to smoke, I don't feel much sympathy for her, since I smoke more than 2 packs a day!!!!
...I can see you and your brother-in-law all drenched and wet out in the rain, with cigs hangin' down from your mouths, sadly drpping on your toes...
...what can I tell you? be strong, my brave!
I'll wait for your news, dear
bye, for now
