On the exact same day (18th of February 1985) as BBC1 changing up their presentation style and ident, BBC Alba changed up their ident and presentation style for it's English language programmes, with the BBC Alba adapting a version of the COW globe ident which replaced "BBC1" with "BBC ALBA".Like with the previous four globe idents that BBC Alba used to introduced it's English-language programmes with, it was used alongside the late-1960s Scottish flag ident (which was used for Gaelic-language programmes only) until angry complaints from Grampian Television about BBC Alba's Scottish flag ident plagiarising Grampian's idents in 1988 which forced BBC Alba to withdraw their long-running Scottish flag ident and use the globe ident at all times, starting on the 16th of February 1991.
