Let's be honest... most of Raedor's jokes are lost on everybody. And most of Andrian's, too. I don't know that there are gladiolus flowers in Aelevar, so... only the other Aelevrians from Earth would get it. Then again, I don't know how much either Tyler or Silver knows about flowers. This is what he gets for being horticulturally informed.
