Description I made this one in a hurry, so flat colors only, sorry Took about 4 hours... Yeah, I draw slow :/ Doesn't help that I second guess each stroke. Anyway:

So I've been wanting to draw lately, but don't have time to commit to a larger project like finishing the Kaelriyu Online or Shay & V.2 comics, so I asked around for ideas on smaller stuff. came through with a simple sequence of Shay becoming a draenei. It initially didn't "click."

At work however, I remembered how much crap I got from my friends when I rolled alliance upon getting the game and it hit me! The alliance is for girls! What a great concept to explore. Helped by the fact that Shay can easily be depicted as a Blood Elf, what with his desire to steal magic, and the news that faction switching may become a reality.

Now its time for alternate dialog, where 1-3 are Shay from left to right:
1) I don't remember having such long eyebrows...
2) Or hooves. I definitely don't remember the hooves.

1) Oh, I'm so sick of having to trim my eyebrows...

Anyway, this really was just practice since I'm quite rusty. Hopefully my work will be in line with my prior uploads. Be kind please

At least we got Worgen while you got stuck with Goblins. ;3
I'm an ally player so I got a good laugh at this.

I can't wait to roll a goblin! I'm really attatched to the greedy lil bastards :3

And their mount is a freakin' hot rod! How awesome is that ^^ And they can summon a bank to item dump on the go

Though of course I'll probably roll both a worgen and goblin, I've got characters on both sides on different servers

They're like the Ferengi of Warcraft.
If you checked the wiki for the racials, I'm not sure about their accuracy at this point, but the concept sketch for the Worgen mount looks pretty sweet too. ;3

I've always been for the alliance myself, but only for the aesthetics.

The brutish primative nature of the horde never resonated with me. Which is why I think they added blood elves: to garner the interest of folks like me XD

Blood Elves are a bit snobby, which is fine for my Warlock. But for me it's a height issue, I just recently made my Male human mage to a Dranei female mage because of preference and a personal reason as well as one percent hit. Troll and Orc Females aren't bad, which will be good if I want to become a horde Druid.

shay24 In reply to Overlord-Skuld [2010-02-06 17:32:43 +0000 UTC]

Trolls ftw OMG I can't wait for troll druids! No way I want to be a tauren -_-; As for the snobbishness of the blood elves, I try and interpret it as unfounded pride: they may act high and mighty, but their inability to "play nice" with the alliance led their race to disaster, and playing with fel magic only sealed their fate and left them with only the horde as an ally. To still have such pride and a willingness to fight considering the state they're in, I kind of appreciate it.

That's one thing that drew me to the trolls: despite having nothing but some crude shacks to their name, they've maintained incredible morale and have a relaxed, upbeat, and steadfast attitude.

What realms do ya play on? :3

Spirestone. Also Blood elves, one looks effeminate/homosexual and the opposite is bratty.

shay24 In reply to Overlord-Skuld [2010-02-08 06:43:22 +0000 UTC]

Lol, well, that's one problem with WoW: they're too insistent on having pre-set personalities for each race/gender. It's hard to want to roleplay a serious, intellectual blood elf female when all their spoken dialog reeks of bimbo.

I prefer the "silent hero" approach in FFXI. Sure, there was no voice and little text (as your character's kind of in the background) but it let you have your own voice in your head.

funny thing is I've never actually played, (mostly due to me not liking people in general and the kind of people common in online gmaes in particular) but I don't mind the idea of being an undead rogue for some reason...

WoW is weird for an MMO in that it doesn't really force you to group up like FFXI did.

I say get the trial and check it out! WoW's trial is incredible: you don't have to give out any payment information, and it uses a special streaming client so after a quick download you can start playing.

If you're planning on playing horde, my Troll's on sisters of elune, but it is an RP server If you do give it a shot lemmie know

Levia-the-Dragon In reply to shay24 [2009-07-27 00:07:39 +0000 UTC]

Not with any other game though...

I usually have pretty good viedogame karma, but Mass Effect has actually managed to blue-screen-of-death me, which is more than even the most non-functional game I've played has ever managed.

Not to mention it initially refused to start at all...

shay24 In reply to Levia-the-Dragon [2009-07-27 01:17:39 +0000 UTC]

hm, might it be a graphics processer problem? I had some blue screen issues with WoW a while ago, and it seemed my graphics driver got corrupted somehow, a quick reinstall and I never had any more issues.

I'm not tech savvy though, and that's a pretty basic fix, so sorry if you've tried it already XD

Levia-the-Dragon In reply to shay24 [2009-07-27 01:23:23 +0000 UTC]

hmm, I tried a reinstall, actually had to download a patch to get it working at all. funny thing was the installationm process didn't call for the second disc at all which worries me...

I know also that mass effect was pretty demanding on sheer computer grunt at the time of it's release but I got this computer recently and had it built from the ground up to handle hign-end games

gah, well, such is the nature of PC games... which is why I don't play them anymore :/

Putting in a disc or cartridge and being able to play immediately spoiled me, lol.

shay24 In reply to Levia-the-Dragon [2009-07-27 02:54:54 +0000 UTC]

indeed, PC's are great, but as a gaming platform I find them very inefficient ><

Perhaps they become technologically outdated quicker than a PC, but having standardized hardware eliminates problems so commonplace on the PC.

If only consoles had the rich homebrew content & mods the PC has. Also, I wish more developers would realize that you can hook up a mouse and keyboard to a console...

Blizzard always uses that as an excuse for not bringing WoW to consoles, but the bloody PS2 could run FFXI via a keyboard and mouse...!

I'd kill to not have to be hunched over my desk to enjoy WoW -_-;

(shrugs) well we each have out own poison, I just prefer to keep all my tech use in the one machine, hell I've even got the TV running through this thing.

shay24 In reply to Levia-the-Dragon [2009-07-28 07:33:25 +0000 UTC]

Well, if you're a gaming enthusiast as I you have to pony up the dough for tons of machines to play all the awesome games out there.

I just had to let go of PC as a gaming platform, its just too clunky. Constant hardware upgrades, compatibility issues, incredibly aggressive DRM... yuck.

Besides, consoles don't have frustrating OS's (with maybe PS3 being an exception >.> You'd think Windows or OS would've been perfected by this point, but they still suck ass...

I'm sure its just something MMO players in general want. FFXI's had the ability to faction swap since its NA release, although the factions in FFXI aren't as pronounced as those in CoH or WoW.

NJM1564 In reply to shay24 [2009-07-25 23:55:35 +0000 UTC]

I don't know. For some reason I don't see WoW as having a real problem "borrowing" ideas from other games.

shay24 In reply to NJM1564 [2009-07-26 06:17:27 +0000 UTC]

Lol, WoW borrows a LOT from other games XD

I forget how it goes, but good artists copy, great artists steal, and Blizzard is a great artist, lol.

Indeed, and with a larger player-base all undercutting each other on the auction house, gold lasts a bit longer ^^

Making it takes a bit more effort, but world drops make buying gear in most cases optional, at least for casual play

Yeah, it was originally gonna be 4 stages instead of 3, but I drew the characters a bit too big so could only fit 3 on the page XD

Like I said it was a rush job, just to try and get back in action. Thanks for thinking its alright though
