Chapter 822: Confederate Uglies - Recusant-Providence-Hybrid

Reguarded by many as one of the most ugliest (figuratively and literally) ships of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and it’s Confederate Navy, the Recusant-Providence-Hybrid (Reprhy-Class) combined the Recusant-class destroyer with the Providence-class carrier/destroyer when materials and credits were running low during the Outer Rim Sieges. Born mainly out of desperation this combined destroyer would serve as one of the earliest Separatist battleships/ dreadnought, the first to be build mainly for military purpose and with the intent to compete against a Venator on it’s own with it’s broadside firepower on each side of the ship, as well as in forward combat. Build by Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc., Free Dac Volunteers Engineering Corps, Rendili StarDrive (original Dreadnaught design) and Pammant Docks the new ship served in a role as capital ship, carrier and star destroyer alike. It had a length of 2,544 meters a height/ dept of 374 meters and a width of 198 meters. It’s maximal acceleration was 2,600 G, which made it only slightly slower then the Venator and faster then some earlier purely Imperial Star Destroyer designs. It had two hyperdrives; one class 1 and one class 2, as well as two backup drives, one class 10 and one class 12, powered by a hypermatter annihilation reactor and four Nubian Creveld-4 radial ion drives. It’s peak power output was 6 x 10²³ W and had powerful shields. It’s navicomputer and targetingcomputer helped the crew and gunners to coordinate it’s Prow heavy turbolaser cannon (1), Heavy turbolaser cannons (4), Heavy turbolaser turrets (6), Heavy ion cannons (2), Turbolaser cannons (6), Quad turbolaser cannons (14), Point-defense ion cannons (12), Point-defense dual laser cannons (64), Point-defense dual light laser cannons (12), Point-defense light laser cannons (60), Proton torpedo tubes (102) with 2.800 proton torpedoes, as well as it’s Flak guns (24) and Tractor beam projectors (8). Additionally it had two modernized C-9980 landing craft, eight additional landing craft/ shuttles, 120 droid tri-fighters or other modern variants, 120 Vulture droid variants, 60 Hyena bombers, 60 droid gunships.

In ground forces it could carry up to 40,000 deactivated battle droids, 160 MTT (Multi Troop Transports) and 280 droid tanks of various types. It’s overall crew numbered 22,650 with the ability to transport 48,245 passengers as wel las additional cargo of 40,000 tons and a consumable for the organic crew, passengers and forces that could last for two years. While not officially available for sale outside Blak Sun and other crime groups who had gotten their hand on some of this ships during the Clone Wars it’s value was estimated to be around 186 million credits. While the majority of the forward ship was heavily armed and defended, while able to carry additional droid starfighters and bombers in it’s skeletal looking armor surroundings, the last half of the ship with the extended engines, the hangar command/ secondary bridge and the hangars themselves was less defended and secured. Because of this Republic and Imperial forces would attempt to push their way past the front, risking to take a full broadside of this powerful ship to get in it’s side and back, were they could cripple it’s engine and get out of it’s forward and sideways deadly weapon range and area of fire. At the same time such a move brought them dangerously close to the main hangars and the swarms of droids the Recusant-Providence-Hybrid (Reprhy-Class) carried with it and meant anyone attempting such a maneuver was well advised to get his best organic fighter pilots and point-defense ready to counter their attacks as long as they had the time of doing so, while concentrating all of their fire upon the enemy hangar to take out the massive swarms of droid fighters and bombers coming out of it. With these ships often joining the droid uprising and rebellion when it occurred, the Confederacy of Independent System suddenly saw themselves tasking whole fleets with hunting down single ones of these devastating droid rebel ships that could cause havoc and destruction to whole worlds and star systems. Tracking and hunting these powerful ships down was therefore a main goal, while the conglomerates mainly hoped that their organic forces and cyborgs would be able to board and recapture these ships, instead of just destroying them, as they were very costly, viable assets to them and their property.
