The Zarian Commander Ri-Bit Croak was member of an amphibious humanoid species from the Mid Rim planet Zaria, who joined the Separatist Alliance, the Confederacy of Independent Systems because of personal interest with the Commerce Guild and Trade Federation. Like all Zarians he was a toad-like beings with a wide head, bulbous lips, webbed digits, and brown, scaly, mottled skin covered in bumpy warts. He knew very well that his skin coloring could serve as camouflage in some environments and had a camouflage version of his Separatist uniform, yes he even would order his Battle Droids, especially the Aqua one to fight in swamp and water environments against Galactic Republic Clone Troopers and Republic Troopers, as well as later Imperial Troopers of the Imperial Remnants as well. Because of his camouflage and ambush tactics and strategies, the Zarian Commander managed to inflict some causalities on enemy Troopers who were unfamiliar in this environment, especially as Ri-Bit Croak was naturally in these swampy environments, were he excelled as he had been a swamp creature hunter for rare animals on behalf of rich employers and even some conglomerates. Because of this he was not only a skilled hunter, but know very well how to camouflage and conceal himself in this environments, so that his enemies were not only unable to spot him, but could walk right past him or his forces, so he could ambush or even surround them. Because he himself preferred aquatic, or swampy environment, Zarian Commander Ri-Bit Croak also specialized on those battle droid types that would shine in these environments and be able to outmatch and outclass humans, or even most non-human aliens not specialized to them as their mechanical bodies were much more capable to swim, walk and march trough them then Clones for example. Fully aware of this himself Ri-Bit Croak would utilize this whenever he could and his well working camouflage color patterns for uniforms and battle droid paint would later be implemented by many other groups of the Separatist Droid Army, or individual local organic commanders and their respective organic units alike, not only aquatic or amphibian ones.

Because of that Zarian Commander Ri-Bit Croak became the horror of Clones facing him, even if overall he was far from the best and most skilled Separatist commanders. Still his experience and knowledge in swampy and oceanic areas made him much superior to their own commanders and leader, with the exception of Jedi ones, as many Clones were untrained and incapable for such endeavors, which was why they suffered incredible losses against droid forces, especially if these Droids had bombers and fighters that could much easier maneuver around thick foretasted swamp jungles, like on Kashyyyk then their Clone Pilot counterparts were capable of doing. Because of that camouflage Battle Droids and their ambushes were so feared that the Republic and later the Empire created special sensor technologies to ensure that even perfect hidden droids would be able to be detected because of the electronics inside of them, as would hidden Separatist, Republic Rebel and Imperial Remnant hidden underground bases alike. Therefor the Separatists themselves tested prototype armor, or special overlaying paint and coats that were meant to conceal these electronic impulses and therefore the droids, weapons and installations or bases meant to stay hidden. This in turn meant the enemies of the Separatist Alliance had to come up with new ideas and technologies to counter these measures again and a cycle of concealment and detection began between the various factions of the Clone Wars. As a Zarian, Commander Ri-Bit Croak usually moved by scuttling quadrupedally, yes he moved slower when he held objects in their hands. As a Zarian, his lungs were sensitive to inhaling too much dust, which was why he carried an additional breathing apparatus, a filter with himself, when he was not operating on oceanic or very swampy worlds and terrains. Not one of the most skilled, most alien, or even cyborg generals among the Separatist forces, Ri-Bit Croak still was feared, as his forces were so well camouflaged and hidden, Republic and later Imperial Troopers often did not even knew or recognize what hit and killed them from were, when their forces were ambushed and dying in masses. This was also why Commander Droak was so feared, despite neither looking very evil, nor acting as villainous or evil as many other Separatist Commanders were known for.
