George Darling (both Disney and the original story) is similar in character to both George Banks and Cinderella's King (the prince's father), he works in finances, hoping for a promotion, demands order, discipline and manners from his children and is dismiss of all things magical, fun and funny, especially Wendy's stories. He desires to have grandchildren before he passes on.

Goofy is the extreme opposite of what George is, for George is without a doubt the most uncaring father, and single most stubborn, hotheaded and actively challenge man in the world. Arrogant, pompous, vile, cruel and a swine. Goofy is the ultimate father, caring, overprotective, loving, good with kids, child-minded, devoted and happy-go-lucky, even when being hard luck.

Goofy: You shouldn't rush your children to grow up so quickly.

George: I will not be told how to raise my own children by some crackpot fool. Children are people, and soon or later, all children have to grow up. The soon you understand that sir, the better you will know.

Goofy: Well, i don't mean any disrespect, sir. But if i were you, I think about the happiness of my son before he grows up on his own terms. But you sir don't seem to care one bit of that so there's not much i can say.
