A: No. If you draw them apart of her headband, you are an idiot, and are not actually drawing Felicia.
Q: Is Felicia a furry?
A: No. If you label her a furry, then you are an idiot. Furrys are animals with human features, not humans with animal features. If you see a 5 foot tall cat wearing your hoody, jeans, and new balance tennis shoes, that's a furry. The same cannot be said about a girl who legitamately has rabbit ears on her head (with no visible human ears).
Q: How many digits does Felicia have?
A: So help me lord, if I find you drawing a picture of Felicia having anything less than 5/4 toes, I will hang you by your got damn nuts - and don't think that being a female will save you, I'll pull out your ovaries and hang you by your girl nuts too.

You don't look at the rest of the official artwork then. It didn't start getting drawn as an all in one until after Vampire Savior, and even then, they never drew it as a non headband cosistently, so that tells you that people still are aware that it is a headband, even if some Capcom hired artists fuck it up.

Oh...my...God...I admit I'm a Felicia fan and I don't like seeing some of the pics of her on this website...but just seeing all this in this one intro over one character.....Look the idea is everybody likes Felicia and if they like her they have every right to draw her their way. Besides the people who fave the pictures of Felicia don't seem to care what she looks like...neko, catgirl, or whatever. The idea is that she's an awesome, fun, lovable character and like every character she's going to have fans express how they see her or tell why they like her...Like I've always liked her because of her fast cat like moves. She's an awesome fighter...

Been awhile brother & what do I find? You railing on these poor misguided artists. LMMFAO! Great post & I looked through all your suggestions of posted. Let me say those were very bad renders of my favorite Night Warrior.
Just clearing some air on the post you made however... Isn't the hair band on her forehead also part of the choker on her neck. It looks like a twist on the nape of her neck & it wraps around her throat in the front. Also, there are a few types of shape shifters in the series. Where Jon Tailban is a werewolf, or a man cursed to shape shift into a wolf hybrid. I believe Felicia is the opposite as in popular Chinese & Japanese mythology about foxes & cats. There she would be a catwere or a cat that shape shifts into a hybrid human form. Perfect examples are stapled through the game of how Jon does lots of human like things even as a werewolf. But Felicia does the same things that a cat does meaning she is closer identified as a cat, though she maybe earning how to be human... if that makes any sense? I believe she would be called a bakeneko/monster cats, like the kitsune is a fox demon.
As far as the basic design goes, I agree. people are fucking her up. But also how the game art & concepts are getting messed up shows quality control is lacking in several departments if official art is slipping by & it is not cannon to the character.

I believe the term for what Felicia is is Nekomata, or to use a localized equivalent, she's a werecat. I'm glad you can pay attention to detail concerning the choker headband, though, it's obvious that the majority of the "artists" on DA can't. But I doubt that it's the other way around, where Felicia goes from cat to human, but more like she's a fusion of both cat and human. Where she may have had intros where she morphed from being a cat, we've never seen her officially start off that way. She's always been portrayed as being half cat half human, with the ability to morph fully into a cat and back again, but never as a cat that became human. Not in any of the comics, not in the anime, not in the official DS storylines, nothing. So it's my best guess she was always more human than cat, but with cat tendencies.
I'll probably end up with an entire Bible of artists as a description for this deviation in the end!

What you said is true regarding how comics, manga, & anime portray her... but I am still on the fence. I believe Jon Tailban is the only Were in the Darkstalkers continuity. As in the First game it had all their breeds of creature... Jon Tailban the Werewolf, & Felicia the Cat was things I remembered. I might be wrong, but since it is you, I am not worried about being wrong. You've already been correct about so much of Felicia that in house artists get wrong with her design... & that is what we do see!

The "were" prefix is meant to denote anything that transforms into something else as a hybrid. You could even technically call Rikuo a werefish as a merman is still considered that. I understand where you're coming from, as it only makes sense that one monster per monster category is in the game, but they even described Jedah as being a vampire despite Dimitri being one too. Same thing with Lilith and Morrigan. Or Hsien Ko and Raptor. I know what you mean, I still consider Jedah to be a demon, Lilith to be a Doppleganger, and Hsien Ko to be a ghost despite what capcom lists them as.
