So I got forced into going to some homeschool-mom gathering with my mother... during their chit chat and my complete lack of company I ended up babysitting some of the younger ones. So I drew to pass the time, and at one point I was drawing one of the Brides from Van Helsing... and one of the homeschool mom's walked by. She said those exact words and I swear to God I had that exact look on my face.Related content

oh, it's because you're a guy. I've observed (look at me, the sociogist over here XD) that men have trouble drawing women and women have trouble drawing men. rather fascinating, actually.

I can't really do either form justice. I lack the patience to practice to even be as good as I was in High School. As much as I would love to draw the characters I write, since I have a tough time convincing anyone else to, I get frustrated to quickly with my attempts and can't get myself to sit down for the hours I'd need to practice.

ARG! I know that feeling. Or like... when people see something that you're drawing and they yoink it away from you like "OH! Did you draw this?? O:" and you're like "Do you see anyone else with a pencil and sketchbook in their lap?"

No, the drawing isn't here. In fact, I have no idea WHERE it is. I drew it... then it like... disappeared *L* It wasn't anything spactacular anyway... a little chibi-Bride. I may redraw it for kicks.

This is classic. I love it. The wide-mouthed smile of the homeschool mom as she said it ((and the little emoticon in her speaking bubble)) made me burst out laughing. I can just imagine the ebarrasment you must have felt! It's really a very, very well thought out and great peice. You did an amazing job.

Oooh, man I hate it when that happens. I tend to draw my characters naked first, then add on their clothes so it all looks anatomically correct. the conservative christian friends of my mothers usually are the ones behind me looking over at my work like I was literally drawing the devil himself XD

Heh... I spend a lot of time waiting around on boys so I frequently get caught drawing in public. This is where my son Paul's newly discovered talents as a wiseass have proven to be an asset.
"How did you draw that?"
Paul: "With a pencil, duh. It's in her hand."
"You're such a good drawer!"
Paul: "No, a drawer is something you keep socks in. My mom is an ARTIST."
(Actually, I was impressed that Paul knew what a drawer was. Most of his clothes wind up on the floor.)

Actually it doesn't annoy me that much when it happens, cause I kinda get used to it... I hang out with easily impressed crowds, that's probably why. But its kinda awkward when a homeschool mother watches you draw nekkid people *L*
