Hi !This is my first (and maybe last xD) attempt to mak a step by step ... It's not really a tutorial, I'm not really giving any tips, only showing the way I line and color my arts.
So feel free to comment these, give fresh ideas and all !

Ok, I know that a light table is expensive and not everybody has one BUT it's still possible to MAKE one !
I personnally bought mine a couple of years ago, but I'm planning to make a "mobile" one, so here are two cool tutorials I found here on dA :

That thing with sketching the character and the BG on different pages is a really good idea, I'll remeber that next time i'm going to draw something

oh god you're so much more high tech than me...-_- i now realize how phale i am. u have all this beautiful stuff!! D: u do such amazing work. i usually copy my works, cuz i'm too cheap to get a light box. now i can't even copy them, so i've gotta ink it right on the sketch. and i've got liek 60 markers, half being dried out...UGH lucky!! lol AND you have money for prints too??? *SHOOTS SELF* gosh u rock. *.*

It's not only a matter of money
I'm not that wealthy ... I got those things years after years, and I'm taking good care of them. Furthermore, I gotta a job, which is quite useful to get some money xD
As I said, I'm kinda lucky to have these stuffs, but you don't need a million markers or a brand new light-box to make cool stuffs.
You can make your own light box out of recycled things and have some markers. You can try to mix medias or use colored inks which give an excellent result and that are cheaper (one bottle is worth a marker or two but you can make it last a longer time caus you use very few on each art you paint).
About printing, LOL, I'm using my old printer (which is a scanner/printer all in one) , and I don't print ALL my arts !
If you're talking about the prints I use as references, they are not prints purchased on dA , just prints I made myself or that were given by friends

Une table lumineuse peut être une simple plaque de verre dé
Posée sur deux dictionnaires, avec une lampe en dessous (lampe de bureau, par exemple), et hop!
C'est moins bien fini qu'une vraie, mais tout aussi efficace.

J'ai envie de m'en fabriquer une "de voyage" pour pouvoir la prendre sur les festivals *_*
L'idée du plexiglass me plait bien !
Je pense faire une petite caisse en bois avec une lampe à pile et du plexi ...

Je vais faire un step by step de la construction de ma table lumineuse quand je la ferais, histoire de prouver que c'est possible ^_^
Par contre, je dois reconnaitre que ça change la vie ! fini de gommer après l'encrage, fini de corner le coin en gommant et de hurler à la mort de dégout ! fini de faire baver l'encre pas encore tout a fait sec avec la gomme etc etc ! Tous ces petits désagrément évité *_* et la vie est moins stressante xD

C'est marrant, moi les fins je les utilise pour les yeux (les 0.05 et les 0.1) et le reste c'est plus souvent du 0.3 ou du 0.5 (dont j'ai bien pris soin d'exploser un peu la mine au début pour qu'ils gagnent en souplesse) voire du 0.8 pour les contours, quand je ne termine pas certaines zones directement au marqueur XD
Pas de tablette graphique, juste mes genoux pliés sur un tabouret à côté de ma chaise et une BD en dessous de la feuille...

Alors moi je t'admire d'une certaine façon, paske je suis incapable de dessiner déscemment ailleurs que sur MA table à dessin avec MA chaise bien réglée pile à la bonne hauteur ...
Pour ce qui est des liners, j'ai eu bcp de mal à me mettre aux mines très fines, mais maintenant quand j'encre au 0.1 (le max du max en é

Mine was a chrismas present years ago. But I cannot carry it with me because it's quite big and needs to be plugged in to work. So I plan to make a small mobile one, and when I do it, I'll do a step by step

About the Copics, I really think that it's not necessary to have so many of them, but the danger is that when you get used to have a lot of them you can't go back xD
