Description
The point when all life ends, and the very begining to when life can start once more.Been working on this piece for a while, so I hope this is a nice intro into me working on art again. I know I haven't submitted anything in a while. My life kinda feels like my artwork at the moment. Anyway I hope you like it and all the work I poured into it.
Enjoy.
***********UPDATE*********************
I took all of your suggestions into consideration, and touched up the image.
Im also going to submit this for prints too.
***********2nd UPDATE*******************
This will be the print version of Alpha and Omega.
Im sorry its taken so long for the print, but I wanted the piece to be perfected
before I send it off to Expose as well as Prints.
Hope you like the additions.

Ironic that Greg Martin himself commented on my work and expressed a highly positive reaction.
Sirgreg:
"Bloody well done... I think this is a fantastic redefinition of my piece, blows it out of the water (no pun intended). Love it."
Care to retract your statement?

It's a very skillful piece but also involves a very powerful message. It captures a moment of sheer destruction but despite that, itΒ΄s something really beautiful. It's the end of the world but what a way to go.

your attention to detail is amazing. The volumetrics in this shot turned out really good... ? though... is it a still frame of an entire animated sequence or did you just do a portrait?

Amazing detail! Everything from the point of impact to the small stars in the background has been carefully drawn. I especially love the cracks around the point of collision. The fog/dust adds a nice touch to it as well.
I love the detail in this one, everything looks perfectly drawn a fav for sure

There is something very odd about the look of the impact. If I allow my eye to follow the curve of the moon and compare that with where the impact is emanating, it seems that the moon either hasn't actually *struck* yet, or it hasn't yet impacted deep enough to produce the amount of debris we're seeing.
To my eye, the moon just needs to be a little closer towards the planet to make it look "right." With that I think it would make a superb composition!
