Description
This is the first of maybe 2 or more versions I'll make of this cloud setting with the knight on the Braculor facing the dreaded black knight in a duel.This actually started out as a background for my first Dev ID image. I liked the clouds so much that I wanted to turn it into a real piece of art.
Painted over 2 evenings, the original is way larger and might be suitable for large prints if I decide to make a poster out of it.
Ask for permission before using this image for any reason.
Painted in 3 layers, PS6 and a tablet

Well....by accident one may say...and by experimenting with a new technique. It was originally part of a dev ID picture I was doing. I liked the clouds so much that I decided to make a large picture out of it. Thus this picture, Duel in the clouds

Mainly hard round and soft round brushes of various sizes

when you say soft do you mean airbrush? or that other one

Always the airbrush tool..using the hard round brush and the soft round brush at various sizes and opacity.

For advanced critique... if you were to turn the bottom rider so that the horizontal line of the wings exit the left side of the page along the bottom of the paper, rather than the actual left side, that might make the contrast and opposition between the line of the bottom rider and the line of the top one more dramatic. Right now, with the wing exiting on the left side of the paper, it gives a very bottom-weighted feeling to the image. Which, if that's what you're going for, then cool. Just an idea!
